Hey just got the form letter yesterday!  Already - got the box on Monday.  I am not wanting to get my hopes up but the recruiters said 8/16 or 8/23 the letter says 8/9 ship 03-Div 298.  Man I need one more pay day with OT.

Welcome Jackie, They leave if we are ready or not.

jqarza, Bootcamp can be fun, you get to relearn the old art of letter writing, no emails or texts unitll A school. Do keep your phone by your side at all times, if she calls and you don't answer you can't call her back.

Thanks vickyrun, this first day has been rough. I usually have a text from get by now and I find myself looking at my phone to see if I got one from her. I can't wait for the letters to start coming. :)

Congrats to you and your daughter, le85

Tell me more about Spain? My daughter may go there next year.

Hello everyone, my daughter just celebrated her one year anniversary.  As I look back at the last year I am amazed at all that has happened.  I didn't even think I could survive the 8 weeks of boot camp, but here we are one year later and she's doing great.  She has been in Rota Spain for about 3 months and loves her job. For all you new mom's, it does get easier, I still miss her but the contact is so much better than boot camp and it's amazing to watch them become these incredible adults right before your eyes.

Have a great day all and thanks to all of you for the sacrifices you make and for raising such amazing young women!

I wouldn't say it gets easier. I would just say you get used to it.BC was hard. Chrissy went in just after Memorial day 2009. I do remember her saying she missed the snail mail after BC, lol I gave lots of people (Church members, friends, family) her address, so she got cards and letters form more then just me.

Her first depolyment was even harder. I was doing good until one day I just lost it, and cried like a baby. Prayer helps. She came home safe.
