Kathy, So sorry you can't see Sara for the holidays. Thank you for your sacrifice.
Chrissy is still in A school @ GL so she gets leave. I know sometime in the future she won't. I hope you enjoy the holidays.

Pat, That's great that Ashley will be home from Hawaii. I feel very fortunate to have Katie home since it has been only 8 months since she left for Japan and other Moms have waited much longer to see their sailor. I'm enjoying every minute ;)

I am sure that Chrissy is ok. She would report it if it got bad. I think it is good that she went into the Navy at age 24. she is not so naive as some of the younger women. She can take care of herself.

Vickyrun, perhaps your daughter should hand the young man a copy of the sexual harassment policy.

I was in a male dominated field which I rather liked because I fit in pretty well. Some of the female graduate students, however, had problems with sexual harassment. Finally, I asked one of my colleagues why he disliked females so much. He was shocked at my question so I explained why I had said that. We had a deal for a while, I would charge him a quarter everytime I considered a remark inappropriate. I would just hold out my hand and it was not long before he changed many of his behaviors. On another occasion, the department chair asked me to talk to a colleague about his behavior. He too disclaimed any inappropriate remarks, etc. I asked him how he would like his daughters to read on the front page of the local newspaper that he had been charged with sexual harassment. That set him back a little. Both these men had daughters and I often wonder how they would have reacted if they watched other men treating their daughters the way they sometimes treated females.

Thanks Maggie,
I talked to her today and advised her to report but she said it is not that bad.So I said if it does get bad you can report it,and she said she knew that.
