Talk about bringing back memories! My daughter has now been in over 2 years, just got back from an 8 month deployment. BootCamp goes by quickly, and A school as well. She isn't the only one learning! I have learned a lot about dealing with missing her. I am proud of her, and how she has evolved. I savor every minute of the phone calls and the visits, because they are never long enough. I am grateful for this support site, because I can come here and read things from other mothers that feel just like I do, and know I am in good company

Hi and Welcome to Our Navy Family
Boots is Great Lakes, you should get her box in about a week it will have all of the info about PIR which stands for Parade In Review is what they call Graduation. It's not easy it's a roller coaster of emotions, it's quite the ride so hang on. I know how bad you miss her it's not easy but we all can relate. Start counting the days until you see her 9 weeks really does go by fast. It may not seem like it but it will. Each day it will get a little easier. My daughter was my 1 and only child so it was really tough. My daughter has been in 9 years now. What is even harder is when you put them on a plane to go overseas on a deployment not knowing when you'll see them next. At least BC you know you will see them in 9 weeks. Enjoy her letters, I loved getting my daughters she'd write about something she did and would say "I'm so Proud of Myself" it made me feel good to hear her say that. Lean on all of US anytime!! Biggg Hugggsss!!! KTSNAVYMOM Kathy

Dominique's girl: don't worry you will receive a letter in the mail that will tell you everything you need to know. My daughter has been in the NAVY just short of 2 years now but I remember receiving the "kid in a box" like it was yesterday. and I could smell her the moment I opened it. Your going to do just fine and you have so many new friends with the Navy Mom's, its endless.

Doninique's girl: boy have you found the right place to ask all these questions. Wait till these Navy mom's fill you in... They're awesome. I would try, but would stumble all over myself. They'll give you a tour shortly and then you'll get any and all questions answered!

My daughter left yesterday for Boot Camp in Chicago I got my last phone call for a while last night for the see you later I was told I would receive a package with her things in it and then I would also receive a letter that would give me information on where to write to her I'm just wondering if there is a site or if anyone knows the name of the actual Navy camp she's at or anything about graduation information or if all this comes in the letter any and all help would be appreciated.

Emily letters mean so much to them. My daughter said the highlight to her day was getting mail. I wrote every single day. She said she hated tuesdays because that was the one day that she didn't get mail (no sunday mail to deliver) but she loved wednesdays because she got several letters at once.
