Another lovely map of the great state of California. I agree with Terri, I just go to the M&Gs that fit my calendar. Doesn't matter where they are, I like to drive. Part of the foothill mentality. I'm used to driving long distances. And I like to meet in person the people I talk to online.

August 28 Meet and Greet in Merced. We have 6 attending and 10 might attend. I am sure we'll get more as we get closer and many of the 10 will change their RSVPs.

Terri, welcome home, another world traveler. I went to Travis AFB last weekend. LOL
We'll see you over the Central Valley Navy Moms group.

BunkerBee, I am back. Italy was fantastic! Great food, wine and sites. One Central Valley group is fine. Most of us don't mind traveling and besides you go to meet and greets when you can.

I am OK with anything.

This little area can really cross over to others (to which group depends on the location). But sometimes it is really nice to have a small local group - for those meet and greets. There are members in the 209 area code on N4M - some just don't know about the group. But if no one wants to be is in charge and keep things active, then it's time to divert people to other groups. We need to have someone willing to ask the N4M to put her as admin of the group and seek out new members in the 209 area code. Vicky?
Here is a map of area codes.

Lovely map Bea, I'm NOT In the Central Valley. I live in the foothills! Much different lifestyle. Do you see the little green Amador county below the big blue El Dorado county? That is me! Wonderful golf resorts up here with the natural rolling hills.
I think we should keep all the groups the way they are.

Oops. Lemoore is definitely in SF recruiting district. The other three geographical groups make sense.
Comment by BunkerQB on July 21, 2010 at 5:07pm
The San Francisco Recruiting District extends from the Oregon border to Monterey/Kings/Tulare/Inyo Counties. The horizontal line across the southern border. Below this horizontal line, the Recruiting district is Los Angeles. Bakersfield is in Kern County.
We have this group up by the Oregon border but no one has posted anything since Feb 2010:
http://www.navyformoms.com/group/navymomsfromsouthernoregonandnorth...

I thought we should keep everything within on recruiting district. Because if we make recommendations to the Commander at Moffett, then it only makes since if our groups do not extend beyond the San Francisco recruiting district.

I have emailed the creator of this group, no one has returned my message or contacted me. Few members in the group post comments. Unless someone steps up soon and wants to have an active group in the 209 area code, I think we should just let this group sit. I would stay as a member but direct any new members to the Central Valley Navy Moms Group. There is a bit of cross over, so those in the Stockton, Manteca area should probably join the Nor Cal Sac group and/or the San Fran Bay Area group. I search out new members on N4M (click on the Members tab above which list new members starting with the most recent) in the SF area and send them welcoming messages on their pages. For the other areas, I will post their profile for others to do.
CREATOR OF THIS GROUP (or anyone else), please step up if you have any interest in getting this group active again. If no one is interested, I would recommend all current members to join one, two or all three of the other groups.
