I forgot to add that I hope your son does get to come home for one of the holidays!

Good news for you Valtameri!  My son is half way through his A school, where he will be going is still up in the air, he will find out this week if he gets the strand he wanted.  We are hoping he will be coming home for either Thanksgiving or Christmas.  He says if he uses his leave up at Thanksgiving then he will be in leave debt??  Not sure if that is phrased right, he is loving A school, has a bunch of guys that he goes to Portside or the mall with or just hangs out with.

No, I really don't want him overseas.  I would prefer for him to be on the eastern seaboard, but I have always tried to support him.  He really enjoys being in the Navy and he wants to see different places, he has loved planes since he was a toddler.  Now he can combine his desire to travel and his love of planes into his job, and he is happy, so I am happy for him.

Hello mom21sailor -- Good to hear that he's started school. Do you want him to get his wish of being stationed overseas?
Comment by mom21sailor on October 3, 2011 at 3:33pm
Well, we got some good news, he classed up today.  He says it will be about 6 weeks of school.  He requested to be stationed overseas, we will wait and see what the time frame looks like between finishing school and his duty station.  Our son arrived on September 17th, so the wait was not too bad to class up.

After A-school in March, my son got stationed at North Island NAS at Coronado, CA.  He still has not started his C-school but expects to in November

My son just did C school at his base last June. He has been in about 2 years. Don't know if waiting that long is the usual or not. C school sounded a lot like what he did in A school and lasted about that long, maybe 3 weeks or so.  I don't know anything about moving but my son knew where he was going shortly before the end of A school and had 2 weeks at home before he had to report. Maybe try the P'cola group?  Keep asking Proudwife, someone will have an answer.

Welcome sheshe!!

Valtameri, I did not find anything about c school. I think he does his when he gets to his first duty station. Not sure though.
