it takes a bit for them to get scheduled when they get to A school. and they are still in bootcamp mode and trying to figure out what is going on. When mu husband got there I heard from him the next day but they are not use to talking a lot so it was short phone calls. they have a lot to do when they first get there. they have a lot of qualifications to get.

Tamuk23 it took my husband a month to class up. it just depends on the flow of things out there. my husband was waiting for ore AD's to show up to start the class. so it just depends. some schools are way backed up. Pensacola wasn't too bad. a lot has changed since the budget cuts though so you'll never really know. they check a list daily to see if they classed up so its a wait game :)

My brother flew in last night also, I received a text from him when he landed but haven't heard from him since...he said he starts school on June 3rd, however from looking at posts on here it looks like they take longer than that to actually get started...any insight?

Wondering who all has a sailor going to Pensacola for "A" school?

My boy flew in last night...

I haven't heard from him yet, but I'm sure it will take a few days for the dust to settle. I live in Washington state... just wanted to say hi.

Elicia, I believe that is correct that P3's are only in Jacksonville, Fl, Whidbey Island Washington and Hawaii. My son will be working on P3's and he is in Washington. He has several friends from Pensacola A school who are in Jacksonville. I also think deployments are in Japan or Bahrain. Those are the 2 that I know of. My son got there on April 30th and there is a deployment soon or may have already happened. He got there to late to go on that deployment. They may do deployments every 6 months from what my son thought. He is" I" level. Working on engines in the shop. Thats all I know. If anyone else knows any information I would love to know.

Also - when working on the P3's does anyone know an average length of deployment? Are there specific places that are available for P3's as well?

I was so excited to see talking about P3s! My daughter is waiting to class up in Pensacola at the moment and says that she wants to do very well so she can choose to work on P3s. I have heard that they are only in Florida, Washington and Hawaii - does anyone know if that is correct?

My son worked I-level for a brief time. The I stands for Intermediate -- they usually work on components in a central shop (not connected to any specific squadron). For example, engines would be brought to them and they would work on the inner components. O-level (organizational) is when they do maintenance for the aircraft in a squadron.
