Advice for new spouses

Hello, everyone my name is Amanda. Thank you for joining this group! I have recently went through the whole process of becoming a PROUD NAVY WIFE.  I am starting this group to help all the new spouses on your journey.  Ask me anything!!!!

Members: 148
Latest Activity: Mar 2, 2019

This is especially for wives, husbands, boyfriends, girlfriends, or fiances.

Everyone has a different experience throughout this whole process.  My husband started signing up in July of 2010 and did not leave for bootcamp until March 29th 2011, so we have pretty much been through a lot this last year and I would love to help everyone that I can understand things that I did not when we first started. He is now in the middle of A-school and I guess so are we.  It has not always been fun, but it is worth it in the end. I say this is especially for spouses becuase pay, and things like that are different for us, but mom, dads and anyone else is more than welcome to join.  I look forward to hearing from everyone, and hope that I can help you along the way.  This page is for newly married about to get married, or just being a new Navy spouse in general.  My husband and I have been together 6 years and married over 2 years now.  We have a 3 year old son.  Watching the children go through this is very difficult because they do not fully understand what is going on.  I am here to help!!!!  I have lots of ideas and experiences to share!!!!

Hi, everyone! My husband is in the middle of week three of Naval OCS in Rhode Island. We've been together almost four years, married for just under one. Missing him terribly, but very proud of his amazing work up there- he's (at last update) president of his OCS class, and loving everything up there. I'm hoping his class earns liberty somewhat soon so that I can go take a quick visit.

After reading Margarita's post I realized that sometimes you get brand new BC wives so since I am active on starting the new PIR groups and am ON the new PIR groups as a "veteran" mom (I'm also an AF reservist wife) I am going to post the new PIR groups for them on here.

skell456(AO wife) - Welcome to sunny (?) California!

We had that freak thunder and lighting storm this weekend that DUMPED a ton of water on us-hail too! I could see it in the distance coming toward us...this black sheet across the sky! Even though I knew it was rain and not a tornado "The Wizard of Oz" popped into my head!

Glad you found a place to live. 100+ members Woo-Hoo! I am glad you started this group and I will be sure to keep pointing ladies this way!

Hi ladies! My boyfriend is out on a submarine! Just left a couple weeks ago, missing him like crazy, we haven't been able to talk. We have plans to get married when he gets back :) Thanks for the invite to the group, just saying hello :)

Thanks Skell... no we weren't married before boot camp, actually we're not married yet but will be in the next few months. So I've been planning this knowing I'm moving myself anyway. But he is only going there for school (he is Advanced Electrician STG so he has about a year and a half of A and C school), so I don't think they move spouses for that anyway. But it's just too long to be apart when we don't have to be! I'll be driving from south Florida... NOT looking forward to that! I'm so glad you found your place so quickly! Where are you staying until you move in?

We just secured our place today we get to move in October 5th!!!  I am so excited.  We are going to be in Pomerado Terrace... It's way nice there.  We will see how it goes......abuon it's easier than it seems the drive was nice and everything is paid for well if you were married before he went to boot camp that is.  All of our things will get here end of September.  I just have to listen to the other girls on here take a deep breath and use my GPS.  LOL  Thanks ladies!!!

Skell, I'll be moving out there in January so I will probably be annoying you with lots of questions :) Good luck and drive safe!!
