This is especially for wives, husbands, boyfriends, girlfriends, or fiances.

Everyone has a different experience throughout this whole process.  My husband started signing up in July of 2010 and did not leave for bootcamp until March 29th 2011, so we have pretty much been through a lot this last year and I would love to help everyone that I can understand things that I did not when we first started. He is now in the middle of A-school and I guess so are we.  It has not always been fun, but it is worth it in the end. I say this is especially for spouses becuase pay, and things like that are different for us, but mom, dads and anyone else is more than welcome to join.  I look forward to hearing from everyone, and hope that I can help you along the way.  This page is for newly married about to get married, or just being a new Navy spouse in general.  My husband and I have been together 6 years and married over 2 years now.  We have a 3 year old son.  Watching the children go through this is very difficult because they do not fully understand what is going on.  I am here to help!!!!  I have lots of ideas and experiences to share!!!!

That is one thing that I have learned is to never plan anything.  My husbands orders have been changed several times.  I never plan anything anymore.  It gets annoying and stressful at times, but we are in a good spot now so I guess I shouldn't complain.  I get to see him everyday if I wanted to and every weekend so it isn't too bad...  Good Luck to you and keep us updated!!!!!!

Nope, He graduates in two weeks and was suppose to have leave after. The big bummer came when he got his written orders last monday saying he had to report to mississippi two days after grad. So his leave inst until the end of august now, not horrible but hadda change my countdown lol. He is officially stationed in norfolk beginning in Sept. We are going to move during his leave if we can. We are scrambling for housing now so everythings stressfull.

Maybe th eno chits thing is just at his school i dunno, we only did it once cause i went down htere spir of the moment. and after that i made him always request in a chit lol cause i dind't want people calling at 3am again

Man I wish that was the case here, but that hasn't been the way.  He had to earn his phase just like everyone else.  I guess it hasn't been so bad because in the process I got to meet all his friends while we had to hang out on the base and they are all really nice.  It has been fun.  We are waiting for his orders now.  Might get them this week not sure yet.  We are not sure when it is over because if he is ships company than he will have 8 more weeks, but if he is squadrin* he only has like 3 weeks here then he will have to go to another school.  It is very confusing I hope we find out soon!!!!!  How about you guys??  Did you make it to Norfolk yet???

haha skell thats awesome! We were able to spend weekends and stuff togethor right after we got married, it didnt matter what phase he was. I still remember th efirst night he stayed out without a chit, sailors were calling him at 3 am constantly. I was so scared lol i thought we were breaking rules but no once your married apparently you can stay out without chits. He's Phase 4 now so he can do that anyway now.

Whens he done A school? did you get orders yet?

My husband got them about 2 weeks before grad. but you should usually know where they go. Join your husbands Rate goup and they will tell you where their A school is located

He will get his orders for A-school while he is in bootcamp they generally come after battlestations 21, but some get them at different times, all get them before they graduate.  He will be able to call you and tell you what they are.  We are currently waiting for his orders for his permenate duty station, but should get them in a week or so.
