For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.

**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.

**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:

In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Hello, everyone my name is Amanda. Thank you for joining this group! I have recently went through the whole process of becoming a PROUD NAVY WIFE. I am starting this group to help all the new spouses on your journey. Ask me anything!!!!

This is especially for wives, husbands, boyfriends, girlfriends, or fiances.

Everyone has a different experience throughout this whole process. My husband started signing up in July of 2010 and did not leave for bootcamp until March 29th 2011, so we have pretty much been through a lot this last year and I would love to help everyone that I can understand things that I did not when we first started. He is now in the middle of A-school and I guess so are we. It has not always been fun, but it is worth it in the end. I say this is especially for spouses becuase pay, and things like that are different for us, but mom, dads and anyone else is more than welcome to join. I look forward to hearing from everyone, and hope that I can help you along the way. This page is for newly married about to get married, or just being a new Navy spouse in general. My husband and I have been together 6 years and married over 2 years now. We have a 3 year old son. Watching the children go through this is very difficult because they do not fully understand what is going on. I am here to help!!!! I have lots of ideas and experiences to share!!!!

My husband doesn't really want housing he says he wants to get away from it all lol. Abuon18 do you mind if I ask where you live in mission valley we have been looking there too :-) thanks ladies!

CMH- it depends on how long he will be in school, but generally they will not pay for you to move to the school area especially if that is not going to be his permanent duty station... You never have to do anything to change is housing allowence they do it but he will have to let them know you moved to Florida...after he reaches his permanent duty station it is where is stationed no matter where u live..make sense???
Chevy- I agree with the rest La Mesa is a good area...what base will he be on??? We are going to silver strand II when we return in two months..its the military housing and I love it so consider that too Cali is not cheap ;)

Someone please help!!

Comment by Kac46047 on February 2, 2012 at 11:19am: Pre deployment stinks!!!!! Lol I actually have the frg deployment brief tonight. It stinks because he has so much work before the leave. He has never ever worked a weekend and of course the last few weekends before he deploys he works. So not fair not to have time with him but deployment will bed over before I know it.

OPSEC is one of my "things" on the PIR groups...but these are new moms etc in training. I'm not sure asking where a port is is breaking it exactly. Especially since the ship isn't going there.

How are you doing on deployment? I personally think that pre-deployment is "hell on earth'! LOL

There are a crew of about 50 people some civilians some navy, also i believe its an old navy ship that has just been decommissioned. Other then that thats all i know! i dunno if its lucky or not we shall see once deployment starts. Im worried about communication and what not with it being so small.
