Dunesmom (sorry I mispelled your name earlier)!--I sure wish there were a Jacksonville, Va-- would be much closer for me, too!  Ha.  I wish!  Yes, you must travel now.  I love Florida!  My sailor will be going to Oklahoma City Tinker Air Force Base)!  That's in the middle of the country!! There are no oceans there!!  I guess I will have to find a lake.  I lived in Tulsa many years ago (there are 5 lakes there).  Ha.  I was disappointed about his placement there......but he will have his new Navy buddies with him!  That is wonderful!  His new wife will still be in Norfolk, though, for 2 years.

Regarding the P3 Orions.....I was all studied up on that aircraft....even bought a booklet on them at the Navy Museum when we were in PCola!  But, that won't be my son's focus now.  What I understand and am now studying up on, is the E6 Mercury.

Dunesman:  Jacksonville is in Florida.....there is not a Jacksonville, Va.  That is where I thought (hoping) my son was going for C school.....but not happening.  sigh.

Guess i better sit back and see where he ends up.  He is pretty excited at the moment about the P3's but who knows what might  be next  hu?

Matts Mom and Cindy - what are your sons' rates?

Dunes - you know how it is, as soon as we think we have it all figured out, it changes. Lynch had thought he was going to FAX for the Orion and now he is going to Tinker for the Mercury......

Sounds like a year is about the normal, if there is a normal for most with all the schooling.  My Sailor said that he will start A school next monday then it's off to Maine for SERE and then to Virginia for C school.  I'm a little screwed up cause i thought they went to Jacksonville for C school.  Is there a Jacksonville in Virginia?

Comment by Matt's Mom/Cathy on February 5, 2011 at 5:15pm
My son will graduate from C school this coming Monday and then begin his training on his plane.  It will be a little over a year between A & C school training.  He is stationed in WA state.

Wow.....your son has 6 months of A school?

Lynch only had like 5 or 6 weeks of A school. The rest of his training will be at Tinker. I understand it will be long and intense. But, that's what a curious mama (ME) has read.

So? How are things going?  Have you heard from your Sailors?

Mine is doing good from what i see on fb. Class has started and he has phased up again.  6 months of a school then off to Maine for SERE.

Ok do tell, i'm a wondering:)
