Indeed when they are flying to use a military discount for airline fees or to get their no fee for their seabags they just need to have their orders and their military id. That is something that they need to have anyway so it is not something extra they need to have or do.

Hi, MommaT. My son was in Pensacola for A school, finished just before Thanksgiving and he was home for a while in early December. Jake enjoyed his time in Pensacola. As soon as he got there, he wanted his cell phone, computer, camera, etc. Then when he phased up, he wanted civilian clothes, so you will be spending a few bucks on shipping stuff. In Jake's barracks, it was dorm-style, three guys to a room and two rooms sharing a head. Might be a different setup for women. They can call or e-mail whenever they are not in school or on duty. Jake didn't have a lot of free time because they still have PT, he was taking a martial arts class on base, and he needed to study at night a LOT. It is a very large base and very beautiful. It's right on the beach. I'm sure she will enjoy her stay there.

Taking socks and underwear is just someone being mean... giving it their best to ruin someones trip! Can you imagine first thing you have to do on vacation is buy new underwear... or worse on a business trip having to send an assistant because you are cutting it close to make it to your meetings??? Then again... I would wash my undies by hand before asking someone else to buy my underwear!

Hmmm... my son is an ATI and his stripes are green... just like in the picture.

Oh the joys of holiday travel! Last year my son was stranded in New York... could not get a flight out until the day after Christmas! But we did have time together so the hassle and trouble at the airport was worth it!
