Rebecca... join us on WA/OR moms page... we have a discussion for Whidbey sailors there!

Hoping that all your sailors have safe travels home if they are so fortunate!

Hi. For anyone who has Sailors coming home for the Holiday, my prayers and best wishes for safety. My Sailor is on the road, headed for CA. So far, he is doing great - fun snowboarding in CO. My wish for all of you is for a peaceful and loving Christmas.

Welcome, Dawn! My son just graduated from AS school in Pensacola the day before Thanksgiving. He's now on his way to his first duty station in Point Mugu, CA. He's stopping to do a bit of snowboarding on the way.

For A flights... If you go to the base you are interested in there should be a place on their web site that will have a schedule of A flights coming through. Needs to be an air base... air force or Naval air station... they have flights in and out and around the country. My son is at Whidbey and there are flights through there all the time...

Angie can you explain the discount flights that you are talking about? My son is in Pensacola and has his car so he can drive home easy enough but he bought his gf a ticket to come home for Christmas and she is in California. She is Navy also.

All airlines have military discounts... you just have to ask for them! Alaska had the best discount when I was checking for my son. Of course it all depends on where you are flying from and to... Be sure to ask for the military discount and what it takes to secure it! On Alaska the sailor must show at the airport their ID and their travel orders or liberty papers. Both things all sailors must have with them! So really it is not a big deal. I was amazed how much the discount was worth!
