For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Thanks phloughb! I am also excited about him coming home. Our family has always been very close (the four caballeros) but in his absence, we have really felt a void. I know that all military families go through this but whew I would never have guessed it would be this intense.

Hi All. My son left on Saturday morning for A school at Meridian. His rating is AZ. He is currently rooming with 2 marines and says it's real hot down there. Hoping all goes well and he makes friends.
Saltyocean did you ever find out if this is where you should be? I don't kow what the AWR stands for...AN is for Airman so yes on that one! :)
Our sailor is an AWRAN, is this the place to call our new home?
So happy, my son just got his orders, He is an AD, he picked helicopter strand and is going to HSM 41 San Diego, CA. Which is pretty close to us.
This is what I have been told by others....from what I know helos are in SD, Bremerton, Port Hueneme and, Lemoore...
