Our son is stationed in Norfolk, VA and is looking for someone to ride with him from there to Birmingham on Dec. 21 and return on Dec. 28 so he won't have that long drive alone. Airfare if $397 so he'd rather drive but doesn't want that long drive alone since he has a tendency to go to sleep while driving long distances.

Vickimed--I live in Elmore County in the central part of the state--I have a son in Mayport FL assigned to the Hue City.  My future daughter-in-law is aboard the carrier Bush.  They are both DC's & went through basic & A school together.  They have been in 6 months.  I love this group!  We do manage to get together sometimes.  Welcome home!

Hi Everyone!! I have been a Navy Mom since May 2010. I have been apart of the groups AECF and  Ga. Navy Moms. I was born and raised in Bham. My husband and I moved from Alabama 33 years ago. He is retired Army. We have been living in Georgia for the past 11 years. I have met some of the most warm, loving and supportive Moms in the Georgia area. Husband and I have just recently moved to Huntsville. I have moved back home. Loving my Sweet Home Alabama. I would love to get to know My Alabama Moms. My Son Chris is an ET. He graduated C school around the middle of Sept and drove across country to Everett Wa. When he signed in to his new ship (USS INGRAHAM) he was told they were deploying in 2 days. So now a new adventure for him and for me. I thought Boot was bad. I am looking forward to meeting and getting to know my Alabama Moms.

My Sailor's home for 3 days & he bought him a new (used) truck!  It's his first ever vehicle that HE bought!  Back to Mayport on Sunday & then he'll be at sea for awhile.  My future Sailor-in-law is on "her" carrier, getting used to it, feeling homesick!
