Thanks Vicki you are on the list, I have already starting making the ribbons. I am not charging for them because I didn't want people to think I was doing this for the money because I am not. Some are planning on making a donation of 5.00 to 10.00 just to help pay for the materials. But please do not feel like you have to do this. I know how hard extra money can be at times. By the way, I love being on your page the music is wonderful and makes me want to stay here. See you soon, can't wait for PIR. Lora

Ah bootcamp, the toughest part is no knowing what is happening. Hopefully your letters are arriving now, once they start - you will find Thursday to be your favorite day for mail! Have you gotten any phone calls yet? It really varies from division to division and often they have to EARN a call so it's hard to predict when one will come in but the best one will be the call to say...I'm a sailor! That happens in the week before his PIR. What kind of schedule do you have? Would love to meet for lunch, there is another FC mom that lives about a mile down the street from me and she would love to come along as well. Let's figure it out.

Vickimed, Yes I imagine they are doing lots together. Unfortunately I missed his first real call on Sunday, but he called his gf when he couldn't reach me and she in turn called me and I was able to relay questions back and forth. He said he loves it and has a great division, which made me feel better:) I live in Misissippi and my son also left on 5/26. Will definitely see you at M&G! Jo

We have 400 members in the AECF group, some are in bootcamp, some are in A school, some are C school and some are with the fleet. Great opportunity to learn about the different stages of their career.

Oh my!!! AECF...awesome! It truly is one of the best programs that your son can get into. Very few rates offer as much schooling as AECF - only Nuke runs about the same. My hubby was an FC for 10 years and our son was actually born at the Naval Hospital in Japan and now our son is an FC as well. He works with the Aegis systems but it's too early for me to confuse you with that!!! lol Let's get your son thru boot camp and find out if he will be an ET or FC, both are great rates but we are partial to the FC. At any rate, you can expect him to be in GL about a year depending on how long the hold might be and then he will move to another state for his C school. FCs will go to either San Diego, CA, or Dahlgren, VA or DamNeck, VA (VA beach area) but this is determined at the end of A school when they get their orders. ET schools are generally shorter and more spread out with their locations so I cannot really tell you where C school might be for an ET but it all comes down to which systems that they will be working on. Have you joined my AECF group yet?
Yes, we have one in Iraq right now --- don't even ask my daughter how LONG it seems to her!!! She is pg with my first grandchild as he came home in March for two weeks of r and r. Wow...five tours in Iraq, God bless that soldier!~ We do gather as a group every month or two...generally whenever someone says ...hey let's get together! Otherwise I get together with different local moms for coffee or lunch. Met one mom for coffee this morning but she lives in the same school district as I do so it's easy to grab some coffee. Happy to get together with you at any point -

Look forward to meeting you, we are in Marietta.
