Choose your Username.  For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either).  Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username.  While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups!  Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself!  Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility. 

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.  

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed.  Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.

**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.

**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:

In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Did you get married during A School or know someone who did?

Hey guys! Just wondering if there are any couples out there that have gotten married during corpsman A School, or knew of anyone who has? My fiancé is currently in boot with a PIR of 5/7/10. He will be going across the road soon after for HM A School. We have a big wedding (ceremony/ reception) planned for when he's done with A School but there are circumstances that make us want to do the "make it legal" thing at the courthouse before then. We have been together for nearly 4 years and have already completed pre-marital counseling from the pastor that will be marrying us. We were considering doing the courthouse thing during liberty weekend, but from what I've heard he could get in some pretty big trouble for that, and we will do nothing to jeopardize his military career, so that may or may not be out of the picture as of now. (has anyone attempted to get married liberty weekend?)

From what I understand to get married in the Navy, a marriage chit must be filled out, submitted, approved, and then he must talk with a chaplain before he's approved to do the deed. I was wondering if anyone knew how long before they are allowed to submit the marriage chit? Could he submit it the first day to get the ball rolling? Could he maybe even do it during indoc? And how long does it take from the time he submits the chit until the time we can actually get married? I'm thinking we may have to at least wait until phase 2 so that we can even go off base to the courthouse on the weekends to do it. Though I do have a friend whose boyfriend was allowed to go off base during phase one (he's currently still in A School)... maybe it's different with every group? 

If anyone has any info or experience, it would be much appreciated if you could share. Thanks! :]

P.S. We are not doing this so that we can live together or request he live ashore- I live in WA and have a job I need to keep here, and A School is difficult enough without having me and a new marriage to distract him & I want him to do the best he possibly can- SO we don't plan on living together until after our "real wedding" when he gets back. We're basically doing it so that I can get BAH, medical, & be on his orders when he receives them for financial reasons, plus it'd just be easier to get the paperwork out of the way now, etc etc.
