Choose your Username.  For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either).  Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username.  While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups!  Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself!  Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility. 

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.  

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

HM school in GL. Wife w/ Questions

Hi!  I'm new.  My husband just graduated RTC on 4/8 and was transfered over to HM school in GL.

Anyone else going to HM school here?

I have several questions.

1.  I live in Oregon, but we have two small children & Im considering moving close to him.  If we do that, is there any way he can live w/ us or does he have to stay in his barracks.

2.  Can someone explain the Phases for HM?  I know right now, he has to wear his uniform all the time but I dont really understand or know when he gets more freedoms.  Like overnight liberty- if we come visit.

3.  What happens after A-school?  Do they go directly onto C-School or do we get PCSd somewhere?

 

I hate the distance & want to be with him, and so far, have not been able to find out when we'll be able to do that.

When you call the number they don't normally answer; we called for 2 days. Finally, I picked the option to talk to someone as if I were a moving company and got a hold of someone. So if you call them and can't get them on their regular number, go ahead and pick the option to get the people who work directly with the moving company. The lady was VERY nice to me and helped me out greatly. :)

I called & spoke w/ Ellen.  She said the price is $1500-$1700 per month for the 1 bedroom suite.  Does that sound like what you paid?
