For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

??where do i stay??? I wanna stay in GL to visit my Sailor in A school for 2 weeks!

So I want to go stay in great lakes for a week in april from the 1st to the 10th and 2 and a half weeks in june, but i really dont wanna have to stay in a hotel for 2 weeks. is there anywhere else you can stay? like maybe rent somewhere? any help is great!!!

Look for extended stay hotels, they are like mini-apartments.

Sounds like you already know his duty rotation, because it would suck if he had a duty weekend during your visit!

Hello, I am not sure about the Navy Lodge in GL but I would look there first. I think you can book the arrangements on line and then I think that your Sailor will have to sign you in. We were able to do this in San Diego even before my son went to bootcamp. He took his contract and we booked it on line and when we arrived he showed the ID he had and we checked in. It was rather easy and it is very inexpensive and it is on the base. Here is the number Call 800 NAVY INN (800-628-9466) to reserve your room or for more information. Also the website is https://www.navy-lodge.com/ This is a hotel though so I am not sure if anyone would have rental information in the area. The Navy lodge is clean and inexpensive and close so you can do things easily with your sailor.

i know your going soon, but if you have a military id, i stayed at Gateway inn and suites this past weekend and they were nice, $32 a night, and its on base!
