@SandySea....I'm here! My son is still in BC, but will be going to Pensacola day after PIR October 6 (I think) and will be an AV; I'm looking forward to finding out what to expect from more experienced moms! He is supposed to be in Fla for about 6 months according to paperwork. I don't know the difference between AV, AE or other rates; it sounds like your son is going to have a great experience!
Is anyone here? Time for a roll call. I'll go first. My son is finishing A school in P'cola, will come home for 2 weeks, then is off to Whidbey Island where he will go to C school then work with a squadron there on the large aircraft that is land based. He is really looking forward to enjoying the great outdoors in the northwest.
It's quiet in here! How is everyone? My sailor is still waiting to class up for AE. Been in Pensacola 5 weeks now. We are planning a visit there in June. I hope after all the waiting that he gets back in the habit of studying hard and does like his job in the end.
OK, another question from the newbie--do AEs take the same AWAT and ATT training as the ATs before starting their AE classes or do they just go straight into AE classes?
Jackie, how long was his training in Pensacola?
Hello everyone. My son will be heading down to Pensacola for AE on March 17th. I am getting conflicting info about the length of schooling for AE. He was told he would graduate May 9th and is thinking he can come visit after that. That sounds very short compared to what I expected. Can someone with recent experience on this clue me in?
Hi everyone! My bf just re-rated as an AE and he is currently in Pensacola. I look forward to chatting with you all. :)
My son is in mayport now and will be working on the helicopter-he is so excited. he sitll has to do C school but that wont start until April. Oh well--he will have duty assignments until.
