@PT mom: I hope you enjoy Stevens! We did.
When the big garage type doors roll up at PIR and the Sailors start to March in sends goosebumps and tears! It's amazing! Our Sailor had to be at airport about 3;30 the next morning so we met him there. They all check in at the same place so it's easy to find them near the USO. Do not go upstairs to USO! It's very crowded with Sailors and the staff doesn't have room for family. We enjoyed a 3 hour visit before he went to the gate.

1Bodyprof- I made reservations for Stevens, the reviews are great, Thank you! Our banner is ready, basket for Meet and Greet is ready, room decorations are ready, ribbons for PIR are ready, son's favorite briefs, socks, pjs to hang out in the room, cell phone, laptop, beef jerky and chocolate as surprise traveling treats. It's no wonder my daughter (Sailor's big sister) is accusing me of being a Crazy Navy Mom!!! <3

My Sailor has been in for almost 3 years. After PIR we ate at Stevens in Gurnee. Menu was extensive and food was good. We walked around the mall and hung out in our room visiting. Are you making a banner for your door? Lots of people do to show their support of their Sailor. Make it patriotic! Sarge's meet n greet is a fun activity the night before if you can go.

CoffeeMom- thank you so much for your helpful hints. I packed my son's favorite pjs to relax in at Navy Lodge. He was happy to hear that when he called today. He said what he wants most is to "sleep in a real bed" <3

MySonBug - probably only uses his laptop for entertainment.  He probably never used it for school.  A lot can be secret and they can't take it out of school.  He has all the toys, XBOX, tablet, phone and his laptop.  He made sure his laptop had a graphics card for gaming.  He is single and that is what he spends his money on besides the 6 tattoos he has.  LOL

Doreen- thank you. He won't drive it there but we were thinking of taking it to him this summer. Did your sailors use a laptop much in school? I'm thinking about getting him one for a grad gift.

@Navyfiance- only 2weeks? That's great! My son is really looking forward to his "what's next".

@Doreen-PNM- Thank you again for your help. I'm going to see what my Sailor wants to do during his liberty. I am just so excited to hug him ;-)
