Congrats!  It's been a long wait for them to come home; are you meeting them at the airport in SD?  Enjoy Enjoy Enjoy!

My son is home on leave now, but the day after he is headed to Bahrain. Apparently not on the MCM he thought he would be assigned to.Should be an interesting next year.

Our Sailor's Crew's orders changed during the course of the "6" month deployment they were supposed to be on.  Ended up being closer to a year, but thank God, the Crew made it home yesterday.

You will have good contact with your Sailor - skyping is wonderful, when they are in port.  I hope you and your Sailor have a blessed year.

Thank you.

My son gave me all the flight #'s so I could track his trip back to SD but guess what?  He ended up on our front porch! He had gotten his leave approved. I am a happy camper.

Congrats Denise. Enjoy the time together.

Is this thread dead?

Can anyone explain to me why they keep shifting MCM crew from ship to ship?

When my sailor signed on to the mcm crew, he was told it was a rotational crew, so they switch with another crew every so often. It gives each crew some stateside time and a break. My sailor is pretty quiet about what they do also, but does seem to enjoy it. He is stateside now for a few months and will return to enjoy the warm seasons over there.

Concernedad not sure about this thread being dead but I haven't posted anything in awhile since my son is in San Diego right now.  From what I know he will go back to Bahrain early next year & be there for a year.  I also don't know why they have been switching crews, my only guess that some sailors have put in a request for a different duty station or they are just trying to fill spots where needed.
