7.Week Seven - At this point, you're nearly finished with boot camp. Excitement sets in and now you're ready for the final test: Battle Stations. Battle Stations is a twelve hour event held to test your entire division on how well you've absorbed everything you've learned so far. If you are present at the call for Battle Stations, this means you have successfully passed all academic and physical challenges presented to you up to this point, and are ready for this final test. You will be pushed to the very brink here, and will find that once it is over and you stand in the finishing room, dirty, beyond weary, emotional and drained. All that fades away as the Commanding Officer in charge of RTC Great Lakes comes in to personally congratulate you, presenting you and your division with your new status as a United States Sailor -- your Navy ball cap. (i cried when i read that)

8.Week Eight - Graduation/Pass and Review. Aside from everything mentioned above, part of your training has been in drill and ceremony. That portion of your training will come in to play here, where you march proudly, shoulders squared and with a bolstered confidence before friends, family, and thousands of supportive individuals from all walks of life. There is nothing like it in the whole world.

Hello,
Before we leave I would be happy to share my personal cell phone # with this division in the hopes or chance we can meet at least for just a little bit. I would prefer text messages (hearing impaired). If anyone would like to share phone #, I can send you a private message.
I will be flying in standby. I hope to fly in around 5:40into Chicago, then we have to drive and check in. I did not reserve for any Meet & Greet. It will not be until after 8 pm that I may be available to meet. There's always a chance that I will have to fly out later on standby (hopefully not) but the flights looks good.
Cindy, I'm excited for you & wonder what your SR has for you!
On the other hand, the term Grad n Go only refers to SR's who are going to school in Great Lakes and I believe the over night liberty may only apply to those who stay in Great Lakes. I asked the RTC fb page, & I guess the term for those who leave Saturday are called Saturday Departures. Sucks that all our SR's have to leave so soon :(
Hope so.....wonder what the surprise is?! Feb 3 is the day we expect the call!
Hello Ladies,
I got a letter from my son yesterday. He said "Yesterday (1/22) I received some really, really, really good news and some really, really, really crappy news" The good news, he said that I will have to wait to hear it! The bad news is that the whole divions is Grad & Go. Which means that our Seaman Recruits will only have Friday afternoon for Liberty. : o (
Anyhow I'm sure that they would still love to see their family and friends. He did say he will not be able to have another phone call till the 3rd. : o) Make sure your phone stays right with you, charged, ringer on all the way up.....It should be the call right after Battle Stations (2nd & 3rd)! Beside the disappointment of G&G, his letter was overall upbeat.
Take care & hope to meet you all at Great Lakes!
