Krystal-- Welcome. I left some information for you on your page. I have not ever heard of a recruit who didn't pass the run having to start at the beginning. The USUAL thing is they are set back a few weeks or pulled and placed in FIT where they work really hard to get them in shape to pass their run. They have a limited number of tries (I think it's 3) to pass then they rejoin a New DIV to complete the last 2 weeks(ish) of BC.If she was able to tell you her new address this would be one time I would suggest using the Sandboxx app to get encouraging words to her quickly! She can Overcome this but yes calling to break the news is emotional. I'm also guessing that she was not fully vaccinated when she arrived so she's still nearer to the start of BC than at the end. We also are entering the stand down period so after 2/10 there is 4 weeks of NO PIR. This will set her back a bit as well. Hopefully you get a letter or a phone call soon and can continue to offer her encouragement!
I also encourage you to post this same question on the MAIN bootcamp page. Not all our moms see the sub-discussions and some of them may have more info for you.
I went ahead and copied your discussion and put it on the main BC page for you.
Krystal -- At the top of this message you'll see the title of this post, your name and then right below that "Back to Bootcamp Moms (and other Loved Ones)-- Click on that and it will take you back to the Main Bootcamp page, then you may need to click it again to get to the Main page (You may not but if you see Discussions in the title field then click back again) You know you are in the right place if you see the 2 Navy ball caps together (Recruit and Navy). This is the main page. There is a TON of helpful information to read. If you keep scrolling down you will see a comment block kind of like you see on here when you reply to comments. You will need to scroll quite a ways down. There is the information, these discussions and then the Main chat fields. Holler if you still need help!
Krystal, so glad you joined us here. My son's situation was a little different but I have heard they handled somewhat alike. He had trouble with get enough pushups done. They assigned someone who was good at it to work with him and he was able to get enough done to pass. I heard they will have someone run with your daughter to set the pace until she can do it on her own. They really don't be want anyone to to fail and work really hard on to see they succeed. If she is really trying they will help her. Do keep sending those encouraging letters, it is sometimes all they need!
Hi Krystal. My SR left for BC last August and at the 4th week developed stress fractures in her legs. Apparently this running component of the PA trips up a lot of the SRs. My daughter told me that when she finally passes the final run she won't have to start BC over, but she'll be put in a division that's at the same week of training that she was in when she got hurt. As far as I know your girl should be put in a division at their week 2. If anyone knows something other than that please chime in!
