OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Hi Sconebaby. We are close'ish. We live in the Adirondacks, upstate NY. Our daughter also just started BC so this is all new to us also.

Sconebaby - I think Pizanche replied to you in the BC Mom group page that she was from this area.

You might find this discussion of mine helpful to you as you navigate this site and learn how to reach out to others and send them friend requests. How to send PMs (Private Messages) to friends on N4M & some OPS...

It is a lot easier to view this site on a computer than on a mobile device. If you don't have that option, put your mobile device into desktop mode and you will see a better picture of a full screen page here.

Thank you! Yes, I finally switched to my laptop, and I'm still navigating this site, learning my way around.

Sconebaby  - That is great! If you ever get lost, just go either to the blue ribbon bar at the top with the tabs or click on your icon where you have posted something and that should take you to your profile page.

This group is not very active, but you can join it and at least post to let others who might come across it know you are around.  - Vermont Moms - Navy For Moms (ning.com)

This group is not much different, but it has a more recent post - New Hampshire moms - Navy For Moms (ning.com) - The most recent comment is by a mom who used to be active. I think lot of the state groups have more activity on FB. I do have a group on here that is for after BC for anyone, but I try not to post it until your sailor has passed Battle Stations or you have gone to PIR. If I forget to share it with you, just post a question about it in the BC Moms group.
