There is a Homewood Suites in Lincolnshire, IL that I am contemplating booking our room at.  Our PIR date is 10/01/10.  Has anyone stayed here?  If so, can you share your experience (clean, location to RTC, ammenities around the hotel)?  I have read that sometimes our guys just want to "hang out" for that weekend so I want to make sure we have a nice place with lots of room, a pool, restaurants near by.  I am not from that area so I really have no clue.  Anything you can share would be great.

We stayed there for 7/9 PIR. I was very happy with it. rooms were clean, small indoor pool, about a mile away from lots of restaurants and shops, had a nice complimentary hot breakfast. We had a 2 BR, 2 bath unit since our son, DIL, and grandson came with us. It had a small living room area with TV and full kitchen. We got the room for $135/night with AAA discount. They said they do have a military rate, but AAA was cheaper. It is located right off 94 -- exit on ramp, turn right and immediate left into hotel parking lot. It was easy and took about 15 minutes to get to the naval base.
Thanks MN Linda. I appreciate the information. Rose Ann
Homewood Suits is a nice place, I have not been to the one in IL but the ones here in CA are really nice. My dad stayed at one for my bothers graduation at Berkley. We will be staying at the Best Western in Gurnee, they seem really nice when I talked to them on the phone. All their rooms are suites. That was my first reservation since I thought that my daughter was graduating on 9/6 and they were already booked up in July for the first week of Sept. Hope to meet you out there.
I decided to stay at the Springhill Suites in Waukegan instead. I don't know how I missed this one when I researching the other day but glad I found it since it is only 5 miles from the base and it looks nice. Thanks for all of the information though. I love this site and all of the support.
Twin Falls - If you call to make your reservations at Springhill - they have a nice discount for PIR.
Thanks. I got an extra $10 off per night by calling direct rather than booking online.
Thats for lookn out;)
