For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

How long does it take to get the form letter in the mail?
My son left for RTC Sept 20th and we already received the box of personal items he had with him when he arrived at RTC. We have not received a form letter yet...is that the norm? How long does it usually take? I have heard alot of Mom's reporting that they received their box before their form letter... hope all is okay.

You should receive your letter by this weekend. It usually takes a few more days to get to you - their normal writing day is Sunday so I would expect - depending on where you live - you will get it by the weekend.

Hi Beth, I got my form letter within a week, but my box took awhile longer. I guess it just depends on when the RTC gets around to sending them out! You will probably get it this week. Have you checked with the other ladies in your SR's division to see if they have experienced the same thing? If you know what ship/division it is, there should be a discussion set up for that specific group. Most of us in a particular division have common experiences with letter dates, phone calls, etc.

I got both my form letter and my box today. But my son sent them to two different places.......letter to me, box to his grandparents. He got a chance to write on his form letter that he sent the box to my parents house so I hopped in the car and literally sped down there to see if it was sitting on thier porch (they live 1/2 mile away, are out of town and someone else takes care of the house when they are gone). I don't have a clue when it was delivered there. I just know that it's safe with me now! I've been floating on cloud 9 for the last few hours!!! Hang in there!! When you get that form letter, it's going to be the most amazing feeling in the world!!
