Hi wives! I hope all is well. I had a question for anyone who might have info or past experiences. My husband passed boot camp and is now in the ATT and A school process. The Navy will move me (wife) and our son out to Great Lakes for the remainder of his schooling, but I recently found out that I am pregnant. Sorry for the long intro. :) My questions and follow up questions are... will it be an issue if I am pregnant? Will it be an issue if I am in my third trimester when we move? Will he need to tell them that I am pregnant? Will they not move us in any case regarding the pregnancy?

Thanks so much to anyone for the clarity!!

Since he already passed boot camp I cant imagine it being a problem! We are currently stationed in Great Lakes and I know there isn’t a labor and delivery at the naval hospital. The closest hospital to us is northwestern medicine lake forest hospital. They may not give him time off after birth though because he’s in a school

Hi and Congratulations Jilillypad.  This is a page for Navy moms so not as many wives to advise you but I will tell you what I know.  Have you confirmed that they will move you for A school?  They don't always do that.  Next being pregnant won't make a difference but he may or may not be able to get time off since he is in A school and there is not much flexibility.  You need to decide if you are comfortable finding a new doctor in the late stages of your pregnancy.  If you do move, they will send a moving company to pack all your stuff and move it. BE ALERT.... They will pack ALL your stuff!!! Trash, food, possessions.... All of it!! Take time beforehand to stage everything and have it clean and ready to go because they come in with a large team and move faster than you can keep up but they will deny responsibility for damage once you sign off!  It's just crazy!  You do not have to pack and they do all the heavy lifting but just be aware.

TLDR: 1: have you confirmed the move for A school? 2: Are you comfortable finding a new Dr in the 3rd trimester? 3: Likely no time off for new Daddy. 4: They will move, be well prepared in advance!
