I just got off the phone with my SRs girlfriend and she had received a call from him regarding their son.  He had called me last Saturday and was really upset because he could not complete his 1.5 mi run. After going to the doctor he found out he has a stress fracture of his left heel which was why he was having a problem running. I am so sad I could just cry. He will be held back until his heel heals enough for him to run again. I did some research online and that could take from 6-8 weeks.  GL is so far from Virginia and now it seems instead of seeing him 6/14 for his PIR, it could be twice that long. I would really appreciate any prayers and encouragement you could send my way and his. He left 4/16 and it already seems like forever. I was just reading about sending him letters and mail and realized that every letter I have sent him has 2 24cent stamps on them because that is all I had and his RDC can flag all his letters because of excess postage. I am so happy for all you moms who have had happy phone calls today. I know how great it is to hear your child's voice. I know that this too shall pass but I know how disappointed he is that he can not graduate with his division because of injury.  Say a prayer for us and thanks so much for your support and having this site that we can go to and share our good times and not so good.

Thanks.  SR's are supposed to get to call home when they are injured, but I know from talking with other moms that it could take a while.  My son didn't get to call, I guess because he didn't get set back.  I got a letter from him saying he was probably going to get set back, and had to wait until he went to the hospital for more tests and then another letter saying he could go on if he could pass the run.  I know how you feel, the waiting and not knowing is the worst.  I'll pray for you and your son too.

Aaron'smom....praying for your SR's speedy recovery.  Also praying for you.  These things are hard on the SR and hard on their #1 caretakers too!  I guess BC toughens up moms too.

I'm thinking about you and your SR. Prayers for a speedy recovery for him, strength and comfort to those waiting at home for him.

Thank you, I called his recruiter this morning and he can not find him in any of his computer records, so that was not very reassuring. Thank you for the prayers, mine are going up nonstop! Thanks to all of you on this site for your support. Every little bit of new information and all the encouragement from you really helps.

WOW!!!! So sorry to hear this.. hoping  and praying for a speedy recovery....

Aaronsmom-my daughter was transferred to the same ship as your son two weeks ago with two stress fractures in her legs.  She was set to gradutate on 5/17.  I've noticed there aren't too many moms on the Ship4/Division 2341 page.  I sent you a friend request, I hope I can be of some help.  It really does change the whole dynamic of BC.  I know what you're going through.  Hopefully we can suppot each other, prayers for quick healing for your son, and strength for those of us waiting for news.

janaismom, when did you find out your daughter had been moved? I have only been told through his girlfriend and that call was for financial information, so I don't know if he is on Ship 4 or Ship 5 or still on Ship 14! I would have really thought that if he is injured enough to go to RCU I would have received a call. This is beginning to drive me nuts. When his recruiter told me this morning he could not locate him in the system, I really became worried. He should be showing up somewhere. Not really happy with the whole situation. How long will it take for the stress fractures in your daughter's legs to heal? I feel so sorry for all these SRs who have suffered injuries and extended their BC. The important thing is that they recover and heal up but it sure makes it tough when you send your child off and you have always looked after them and you can't even get answer when they are injured. I am hoping that I will get a call tomorrow. Have you received any calls. I haven't got a single letter yet from him so he got to GL 4/16 and I am in the dark. Thank you for your support, I will try to be here for you if you need someone to share with. I will friend you also and keep praying that our SRs will heal properly and we can support them and they can get on with their Navy careers.

My prayers are with you all AaronsMom!  I hope he gets better sooner than later.  :)
