Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

My son leaves in 20 days
I don't know if I'm in the right place to just post that this is where I'll probably be hanging out soon. This is an awesome site, I can't believe all the different groups, forums, discussions,etc. If this isn't the correct place, someone please tell me. I'm not always the most computer savvy person.
My son was a young senior in his class & joined DEP after his August birthday. At least I think that's when it was. We will be empty nesters after he goes to boot. We have a daughter who is 24 & lives in Florida. We're in Ohio.Once again, just so nice to know I have all this support out there. I know I will take advantage of it.

You're exactly where you need to be!! My son is currently at RTC, and I've been a member here since about two months before he left. The ladies here are such an inspirational source of support! I hope that by the time my son graduates, I'll be able to repay the favor to all the new momma's that will be coming in over the years.
So grab your beverage of choice, sit back, and jump into the party whenever you can!!

There is a group on here for Empty Nesters also-this site has been a great help to us. Our grandson arrived in Great Lakes last Jan 7, has finished Boot Camp and just graduated from A-school. He is now home on leave and on the C-school
There are many people on here who can help with your questions. There is a Boot Camp site and there will or should be a site posted for your son's graduation date so you can communicate with parents in teh same boat as you. I hope you plan on coming to his PIR-Pass in Review-one of the most awsome things I have ever seen-bring kleenex you will need them. Just be prepared for a lot of waiting and non communication from your SR in the beginning, but like all of us you and he will survive Boot Camp and all the it entails.

Welcome aboard! My daughter shipped to BC the first part of October. I joined "Navy 4 Mom's" back in March and never really spent any time here until my daughter left. Joining "Navy for Mom's" and some of the support groups has been the best thing for me. Being able to visit with "new" Mom's, like me, and the Mom's who've "been there, done that" has been an absolute "God send". It is a comforting feeling to know there are so many other Mom's who share my feelings, who have the same questions and concerns and Mom's that will help us every step of the way. Makes each day so much easier for me.

We laugh with you, cry with you but most all we will here for you! You will experience just all emotions during your son's Navy experience as we all have and at one time or the other we all needed someone to understand. And I havent asked a question yet that someone on one of the sites could'nt answer for me.

Yes this is the place were you will be spending alot of time once your son leaves!! The support and encouragement you will find helpfull and supportive as well as the u.s. navy recruit training command sight via facebook. When my son left back in June I was so happy to have a place to come to! He's now in A school in Texas and hopefully I will see him for the holidays. You will miss him a great deal but us navy mom's have all been there. When you see your son again after the 8 weeks of boot camp you will truly be amazed and proud at the transformation. And every day after that.....good luck on your journey and the best to your son!! Mom4life
