Graduated to bc mom today at noon.  My son Sam was sworn in today in Houston, Tx. I would not have known it was alright to go the the ceremony had it not been for someone on N4M. Not too many tears today but am sure more will come. I await his call upon arrival.  Thanks to all who participate and encourage. About when does the letter come that tells what division.  Anyone can give a brief timeline on the sailor's life at bc?

Our son was sworn in yesterday in Dallas. Didn't stay for the walk to the bus...knew it would be too rough. No tears here either until the call from his cell last night! I nearly sprinted to my phone since I knew it was his ring tone! Today has been kind of emotional...I can't seem to focus and constantly think about him. Lots of prayers for him and searching this site for knowledge! Any words of wisdom?
Hi neewbie, welcome to the roller coaster ride of your life! If you want to see what BC will be like, go to YouTube and type in Navy Bootcamp 2010. This is a 2 part video, gives you a good idea of what they will be going through. If I was smart enough I'd know how to add the link to this message. Watch the video and let me know if it worked!
My daughter is scheduled to leave tomorrow, 8/18 from Houston...
Good luck to both of you and I hope your daughter has a safe trip.
Charlee make sure you keep coming back to this site! All these ladies are lifesavers!!!! You will learn very valuable info here! Will be saying prayers for you and your daughter tomorrow!
Today's the day, will be going down this morning. I am very emotional this morning, not because I'm sad, but because I want it to work. It's been terrible past year, and I hope this the beginning of the right direction.
Charlee- your daughter will be fine. Yes it will be hard but if this is something she has wanted to do and has set her mind on it then her determination will get her through. You hang in there too mom as she's going to need your support and encouragement every step of the way. Stay with the Navy moms as they will help you in so many ways.
All the best to your daughter as she starts her journey.
Lori
