okay i have a few questions to anyone who may know the correct answers.

1) approximately how long after i receive "the box" should i expect to get the form letter?

2)when i send his letters i have address labels i had previously printed however they are decorative with mickey mouse, would it still be okay to send it with those?

3) i see they are supplied with navy envelopes and stamps.. would you recommend that i send extra stamps because he is planning to write his family if possibe?

Thanks in advance.

After graduation they get liberty. Some do have watch during this time and have to stay on base. My son had all three days for liberty and only had to be back a little early one night for a 9pm watch. They have to wear the uniform of the day. (in public) Some relatives bring civilian clothing for the hotel room. My son had a sailor in his division that was 5 minutes late on Friday night and had a Saturday midday watch. Being late can affect liberty.
Have you heard if he is Grad and Go yet?? That will affect his liberty. Where is he going to A school at?

They can wear civilian clothes in the hotel room ONLY...so bring comfortable clothes for him to wear, so he won't wrinkle or ditry his uniform.

Some have to stand watch during the weekend. Have to return to the base at 8 or 9 pm. Some who are G&G to GL will get overnights with their family...so be prepared...toothbrush, pj's, etc.

Bring cell, laptop, etc for use to catch up with friends and family andif G&G can have these befoe ships out. If G&G other than GL...may meet at the airport to wait for flight and give cell, alp top etc.

If he is G&G...go to this group http://www.navyformoms.com/group/gradgoinfo for more details
They may have duty during the liberty time. My son did not, but some of his friends did. He had to back at the base by 8pm every night, but wanted to be back an hour earlier because it takes them time to walk back to their ship. If someone is late, they can screw it up for everyone. That also did not happen to my son. I have heard different times for some recruits so it must be up to the RDC's. If they are grad n go, there are different rules, etc .Also if their A school is in Great Lakes, the rules are different. They can go anywhere within a 50 mile radius. They are briefed about liberty and the rules a couple days before PIR so your recruit will know the rules.
We stayed at Springhill Suites for PIR it was really nice. I would not use the Mickey Mouse labels you just don't want him to be teased in case.Keep you cell phone on you at all times and I mean all times I missed one of my sons calls by 1 minute when I ran upstairs to change my clothes it broke me heart.
Alisha: yea i think im gonna cut off the mickey mouse border when i send the letters.. yeah my phone goes everywhere with me lol and i mean everywhere its like glued to me now
