Hi there!  Yes there are a few of us with this same division.  We have a site under 9/1/11 PIR but no one has been on for a few days.  How are you making it so far?  Comes and goes with me.  It was terrible at first but has gotten better as time has gone by.  There are still days when I think I can't stand it but then I get a letter and that is WONDERFUL!  Have you received a call yet?

Hey there, I have only found one person on here with the same division.  I have good days and bad days.  Seems when it is bad I receive a letter which makes it very good.  My son is in this div.  First time ever away and it is hard at times.  I am very proud and he has wanted to do this forever!  I still have not received a call yet, have you?  Where are you from?  We are from Alabama.
I live in Louisiana so we are not far.  I got the first phone call last Thursday and I think I smile the entire time he was talking. He seems to really be doing good! yes the highlight of our week around here is getting a letter from him. I cannot wait to go up there and see him graduate on Thursday September 1st! Are yall going also?
I am, we are staying at the navy lodge.  I am so excited to see my son.  I am so glad you got a call.  I know you were smiling!  When I read your statement it made me smile as well.  I hope to get a call soon.  I wonder why some get calls and others don't??  My son said they had lost alot of "brothers".  He was saddened by this.  Where does your SR go for A school?
I cannot locate that 9/1/11 PIR discussion is there a link to it?
I haven't either!
If you go to the "Groups" tab and type PIR 9/1/11 you can find it that way. It's labeled with the ship and divisions.
My SR goes to A School in San Antonio, Tx he is going to be a hospital corpsman.  We are staying at Courtyard Marriott in Waukegan. I don't understand the losing brothers thing either-I wander what that means? I don't know why some get a phone call and some don't---he called on Thursday a week ago at 3:00 PM CST. Now it is difficult for me to put my phone down 24 hours a day. The call was made from a calling card he bought and the area code was the Waukegan area code (just so you will know). Where is the Navy Lodge yall are staying at?

My SR is going to San Antonio as well.  The losing the brothers was refered to many being sent home.  I so need a call.  I keep wishing everyday for one.  The Navy Lodge is right at the base.  We will have to look each other up when we get up there.

In his letters he said they were doing good.  He said they have been blessed.  I don't know how some get calls and some don't.  Not sure how things work up there.  But as long as I have letters coming it isn't so bad.

My son is in this division too.I'm glad we're half way thru the boot camp part. I can't believe I haven't received a phone call yet. It's getting really hard. I'm also nervous to book a flight until I know he's on track...

Hi sleepgirl, Amy, ktzmom02- Hope you are all doing well today!  We've received one call a week ago Thursday.  I think this week is supposed to be a tough one for our SR's.  From what I've read it's called "Hell Week"  only from the standpoint that they have a VERY busy week.  We are from Missouri. My son will go to "A" school in San Antonio to be a MA.  We have reservations at the Residence Inn in Waukegan.  I sure hope that they get to have some time with us after Graduation.  Can't wait to see my son.  I'm sure hoping for another call!

Hi everyone. We are from Oregon. My son, Nick, is going to e doing A School in Virginia and then Connecticut. He's training to be a Culinary Specialist on a submarine.

I can't wait until graduation! I am purchasing tickets this week. I've been waiting to hear from him, but have not gotten a call at all. It's driving me crazy. I'm sure he's okay, but his last letter from Thursday or so was kind of disgruntled and discouraged sounding. Will see what this week brings I guess. I sure wish I knew for sure when he is leaving for his A school. All this not knowing has been challenging...

I agree with the others--it would be fun to meet up. It looks like the Ramada does a meet and greet for the Navy families. There's info on this site about that.
