Hi there! Yes there are a few of us with this same division. We have a site under 9/1/11 PIR but no one has been on for a few days. How are you making it so far? Comes and goes with me. It was terrible at first but has gotten better as time has gone by. There are still days when I think I can't stand it but then I get a letter and that is WONDERFUL! Have you received a call yet?
My SR is going to San Antonio as well. The losing the brothers was refered to many being sent home. I so need a call. I keep wishing everyday for one. The Navy Lodge is right at the base. We will have to look each other up when we get up there.
In his letters he said they were doing good. He said they have been blessed. I don't know how some get calls and some don't. Not sure how things work up there. But as long as I have letters coming it isn't so bad.
My son is in this division too.I'm glad we're half way thru the boot camp part. I can't believe I haven't received a phone call yet. It's getting really hard. I'm also nervous to book a flight until I know he's on track...
Hi sleepgirl, Amy, ktzmom02- Hope you are all doing well today! We've received one call a week ago Thursday. I think this week is supposed to be a tough one for our SR's. From what I've read it's called "Hell Week" only from the standpoint that they have a VERY busy week. We are from Missouri. My son will go to "A" school in San Antonio to be a MA. We have reservations at the Residence Inn in Waukegan. I sure hope that they get to have some time with us after Graduation. Can't wait to see my son. I'm sure hoping for another call!
Hi everyone. We are from Oregon. My son, Nick, is going to e doing A School in Virginia and then Connecticut. He's training to be a Culinary Specialist on a submarine.
I can't wait until graduation! I am purchasing tickets this week. I've been waiting to hear from him, but have not gotten a call at all. It's driving me crazy. I'm sure he's okay, but his last letter from Thursday or so was kind of disgruntled and discouraged sounding. Will see what this week brings I guess. I sure wish I knew for sure when he is leaving for his A school. All this not knowing has been challenging...
I agree with the others--it would be fun to meet up. It looks like the Ramada does a meet and greet for the Navy families. There's info on this site about that.
