Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Son left for BC 3/7/11 anyone else?
My only child left yesterday 3/7 I received the "call" last night about 8:45. He sounded good but of course I worried all night just like all of you before me and with me.

hang in there Mom. It just seems like yesterday that was my boy and here he has been in for a year. He is now living in San Diego CA and LOVING it! In about two weeks you'll get your form letter from him with his address and PIR (pass-in-review, aka graduation) date on it. Then you can link up with other moms on here with sons and daughters of that same date and even the same ship and division as your son. You can share letters and confirm dates of events and tests that'll be coming up over boot camp. Start writing your letters now and and dont be surprised if you get a letter from him before or same time as your form letter. My son's letters to me beat his form letter so I was really excited. And don't be surprised if he says he's not getting any mail from you. It'll take about a week to two (depending how many divisions they have) for him to start getting his mail. And very important--NO GOODIES..keep it simple with letters, cards, pictures of the family is really good, and newspaper clippings keep him informed. But NO goodies or anything that'll make him stand out. Good luck to your new recruit and to you!! HOOYAH

Thank you so much for the kind words...my son would like to end up in San Diego! I hope your son continues to enjoy his choices with the Navy and his destination! Yes I 've been told NO goodies etc. and to be patient with mail, calls and time.

well if he does then let me know and Zac can look him up and show him around :) oh yes the phone calls. I remember the days of taking my phone to the bathroom with me..LOL. You'll definitely get one and that's after Battlestations but they get to earn phone calls with how good they do on tests and challenges and some recruits, depending on their jobs, get to make a few extra. Sometimes they would know when they're going to get one and would write. That was the great thing about getting in touch with your PIR group on here and staying in touch cause as soon as one of them got a call from my son's division and brother division they would post it and I would know start watching my phone. :)

My daughter started BC on Monday as well, I got the call at 11:45, she sounded so TIRED, it was a long day of waiting for the plane and to get there.
Not having her around is the hardest thing I have ever gone through, and not talking to her daily is worse.
She will be in San Diego for school right after BC, she is very excited about that.
When I find out her division I will post it here. -

My nephew left 3/7 also and my sister received her "call" last night as well. He to sounded good but I can't stop worrying about him. Our family has always been very close - so close we see each other every day. This time during BC is going to be extremely hard for each of us. I just find myself reading everything on here, which has helped, and I feel this is going to be my rock for the next few months, and so much longer after that.

We are from louisiana, I have not received my sons box yet...i am really anxious to get it not sure why but just want to have it with me. I am trying to get in touch with his recruiter didnt know we could write before we got thier info i dont even know his division.

Well the only thing that was in the box was his clothes, cell phone, shoes and coat. No note or the letter. Our recruiter said it would probably be a week before we get the official letter because of not knowing what division he'll be assign to takes a few days.Its really tough not having them around isn't it? I just keep thinking about what we were doing this time last week

Michelle ~ I called my son's recruiter and he gave me his address with the division. My son left on 3/7 too! My box contained the same items.

when i got home from work i got the box with the same contents...i am ready to be able to send my letters!! UGH waiting.
