my3sons,
Anything on Coronado will be expensive. (Just because they can!) I would get in touch with Grandpa. I don't know if he is retired military but he talked about staying at the Navy Lodge on Coronado. http://www.navyformoms.com/profiles/blogs/our-trip-to-coronado I don't know if your son can check you in. That would be your best option. Coronado Island isn't very big. It has a lot of old houses on it. (I wish I lived there!) And it even isn't an island, but rather a peninsula. But it does have a bridge over San Diego Bay, because the land route comes up from the south. Coronado Inn is on Orange Ave (that's the main street through town) Hotel Del Coronado is at 1500 Orange Ave and you can always go down there so you can see where they do rock stuff with the boats. It is open to the public. Hotel Del is on the way out of town if you are going south. There is the community center beyond that and some apartment style condo after that but not much else---except the Navy base. LOL The Navy base is on the north side and the south side of the "island".

ellen you take care of yourself and I hope your surgery goes well. I do not remember what you are going in for...did you say?

Illi did you ever look me up on fb? I would love to get together after I get back from Charleston. Send me a msg if you don't mind. Thanks

My son use to like me to go to his testing with the Chief he said it made him push even harder. It made me feel good that he liked me being there. I never missed one. His chief was not a good one though. Very disappointing...neither was his recruiter.

Have a great night and I hope we all get good news soon. :)

Hi all. Angie what can I say...once again well said. I think I will just start copy and pasting your comments. lol
LuLu glad your son is doing well. My son had a blast with night evolutions as well.
Talked to D this afternoon and he said they got off early and 2 of his buddies that have been med rolled were taking him out to dinner. He sounded so good. Thinks he has an ingrown toenail which a bummer. That can hurt. He is showing them he CAN run in the sand and did not need to be rolled!! HOOYAH D!!
LuLu are we friends? I am going to send you a request. Are you on fb? I would love to know if our sons are friends.
He also told me that another guy he was really close to and looked up to like a big brother (he is 29) dor'd. He was bummed that is buds area leaving.
Good luck to all our boys. May their futures be bright and successful!
