geez, what a pain in the a$$ lol.

We are a family of 4, we have a young daughter too.. I know we have Tricare b/c I've been using it and all that. We've been married for over 5 years :)

I really hope it was just a mistake & they forgot to put us on there. Hubby said he is going to try to make it down to talk to someone on Thursday.  I hope he can!   I just hate waiting :)

Thanks for all your help!  Its really nice to talk to someone who's gone down the same road before us.

I know your frusteration.  That is strange that you and your son are not on his orders especially if you were married before he picked them.  What he needs to do is update his page2 and get your names on those orders.  He should have told them that he has dependants that would be moving with him when he picked his orders.  You can always move when he does but you will have to pay for it.  Trust me that is what I went through, we had to pay for our move down here.  I would talk to your husband about why you and your son were not on his orders.  The military is not ever going to tell you anything unless you have a power of attorney that says you are authorized to find out certian information.  Trust me I went through that BS too and had to have my husband who is deployed on a ship get me a new POA.  This is a matter that you really need to talk to your husband about, because of you and your son are not on his page 2 that means he wont be getting the right housing allowance for the 3 of you, it means you might not have TRICARE insurance or be enrolled in DEERS.

ok so-- I havent really gotten any answers from anybody yet. (other than what you've told me) Every number I call, I just get "your husband is going to have to call and get that info, we cant talk to YOU"

What I did find out: Our names are not on his orders.  So, from what I've been told, that means we cannot move w/ him. (unless we do it ourselves)  I dont know if this is a mistake- like they didnt know he had a family or someting, or if we just are not authorized yet?

I dont understand why we wouldnt be able to move to that area since we will end up there anyway?

Here is our progress on the Chain of love that we are making for my husband while he is away.  Today marks day 91 that daddy has been gone.  it is almost to the otherside of the living room!! We cant wait for him to see it.

not unless he is a brown bagger. only married people with spouses that are living in the area can brown bag.  no while he is working in the hospital he can live at home with you.

I thought he had to live in the barracks while in FMTB? & That he could only be a brown bagger while he was working in the hospital while waiting for FMTB to start.

I dont think they will let him be a brown bagger if you are planning on living closer to cherry point.  There are too many risks of him not getting to FMTB on time and he could get kicked out if he is late.  I think you have to live within a 20 mile radius of camp lejeune but have him find out.

He is suppose to report to CL Mid August.  His FMTB starts mid October, and then he reports to Cherry Point, NC at the beginning of January.

I havent applied for base housing yet.  I really dont know what to do in terms of arranging this PCS.  Its our first.  Cherry Point is about an hour away from CL.. is that too far for him to be a brown bagger?  I'm thinking of looking for a house to rent off base inbetween the two bases.. but then again, IDK bc I want to be close to the base that we'll be spending the most time at.

We just found out this info yesterday so I dont even know what I'm thinking or doing yet. lol.

I have a 5yr old son who is suppose to start kindergarden this year, so I really need to figure this out.

yes the navy should pay for that. I dont know who they have to talk to about brown bagging.  When is he suppose to be moving down here? I believe he needs to talk to the people at great lakes when he is checking out about the brown bagging.  I dont know much more than that because the Navy didnt pay for us to move here since we werent married when he picked his orders.  You are allowed to move with him whenever, did you apply for base housing or are you going to be living in town somewhere?  Base housing has a wait list.

Oh- and... Since he has his orders w/ dates on them.. assuming we are allowed to move now, when should I start planning the move- ie. setting up the day that TMO picks up our stuff, etc?
