Thank you! We've talked about me just coming to NC to spend time together. He's not my son, but my boyfriend! So this trip was for my kids to get to know him a bit. But some alone time wouldn't be a bad thing either!

Been planning a trip to see my Sailor before he goes to CL...he finds out that after he graduates 11/29 they send him straight there & no Christmas break! His class won't even start till the first of the year! Is this what everyone is finding happen? I'm really disappointed & frustrated! Not to mention my kids! Any info is welcome. I'd search through the posts for this info...but am at work. So using my phone on break :). Thanks everyone!

Cub called again last night, sounded so much better.  SOOOOOOO much like his Dad, gets really anxious nervous quiet and almost grumpy with new things,  Should have known.  :)  Very talkative, almost 45 minutes. Says he goes back to CL after FMTB.  He is excited about Thanksgiving, His grandparents are going down to visit him.

Talked to ours on Saturday.  Also sounded a little down.  He is actually happy about the lights out and quiet at 2200.  He was so tired on Friday night he couldn't even stay up and watch our Cardinals win the World Series!!! :)

Talked to my cub last night.  Said lights out and quiet at 2200 hours.  Can text after that but no talking.  I am guessing they will be too tired for much of anything.  Cub sounded pretty down, maybe a little unsure of the next step?  Said he would be going to other places for more training later...not sure of time frame.

Good to hear his voice.

Good Luck to them all tomorrow and I know they are all ready to start this up.

@mama, mine relocated a few times (don't know if that is normal or they were just lucky, haha) so it would make it hard for the mail to catch up with them.  They have early days, long hours and still pull watch.  You can text but they may not respond right away.
Comment by Navy Mom on October 27, 2011 at 9:46am
Don't know the address but was told a while ago by him that they really don't want mail while they're in training because apparently they get razzed a lot.

I got a text today that they got boots LOL  Hurry up and wait  LOL LOL

Do you happen to know the address there yet? Are they all in the same area per say?
