FOLLOW THESE STEPS TO GET STARTED:

Choose your Username.  For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either).  Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username.  While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Make sure to read our Community Guidelines and this Navy Operations Security (OPSEC) checklist - loose lips sink ships!

Join groups!  Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself!  Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility. 

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.  

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Well, thanks for that information!  I too was SOOO looking forward to having some time with him.  Oh well.  I heard, however, that we can go to the airpoprt (if we find out when and where they're leaving from) and we can hang out with them there.  That's better than nothing! I'm not entirely sure, but I think we can also give them their cell phones and laptops.  But I woudl double check that.

Hi - I saw your post regarding San Antonio.  Well, my son is also going to corpsman school, he origianlly said he was staying in GL, but just yesterday I received a letter indicating SA.....I'm just a little bummed because I was hoping to spend some time with him. Oh well....

Hey!  You need to delete the post on the PIR board that has your SR's last name.  No last names allowed on the board...Navy policy.  I have asked the other lady who replied to it and used your last name to delete hers also!  Thanks! Don't want your SR to have attention drawn to him.

hi proud mom my son sent it to me from the nex but i am also going to chesterfield mall in the court down stairs there is a tshirt shop that has navy mom shirts and clothes that are so precious im going there also.

Hi Anthon'ys proud mom! I just received my daughter's info last week from her recruiter and yes she is also on the same ship 2..division 922...I am like so waiting to hear from her! I got her box but that's it.. nor form letter yet! Do you know for sure if the PIR will be April 15th?? Rosemary

P.S. I just noticed you have 3 kids also... me too! 2 girls 1 boy,,,My dau in BC is Jessica she is 19 my son 18 will be leaving for BC this fall Navy also...our youngest dau 11 has no desire to join..lol ....Have a wonderful evening. I know how hard it is when your child leaves..

It has been getting better as the days go...but there are days that any little thing that i notice around the house will just set me off sobbing .
