Congratulations to your son Jacqueline! In the words of my son "He's a Hoss!!" Makes me laugh everytime he says that.

Judy - Poor T :( My Mom would get heal spurs and they were so painful.

How are all our Corpsman going to be the caregivers if they're all sick!!

Hey there, T called last night, he said that he has that bone spur in his foot that is super painful; he has a real strong tolerance for Pain and asked for an appt. to see the Doc but someone messed up and scheduled his appointment 11/2 weeks later which was yesterday...well because most of the corpsman are sick...T was sent away without seeing the Doc!! He said he can do everything without pain but run and push ups!! I feel really bad for him cause he never complains!!

Jacqueline, Way to go...can't do better than that!! You tell your cub that we are so Proud of him!!

FMTB is eight weeks long. It may seem like 13l!!

Welcome Proud.Mom.72!! Your son will more than likely be in the next class that starts up in January. Very physically demanding course but the kids seem to like it.

My goodness but most sound like they are getting or have been sick. Next week is field trip time so hopefully they will all be over this crud. Funny story about the hot sauce Chief - J put a little too much on his MRE when they were out in the field last time. Needless to say, his mouth was on fire, but he knew he had to eat, so toughed it out. I'll never forget the time he was about 7 and mistook a jalapeno for a pickle and popped that right in his mouth. OUCH!! He never really was a fan of hot sauce, but he said it does give MRE's some flavor!! I've actually tasted a few when my husband was in the Army.

Judy - the colors are wonderful, but depending on the temps and the amount of rainfall, it varies on when it really gets colorful here. Sometimes it's October, other times its November. We also have a lot of pine trees in Georgia, so that keeps it "green" all winter. Growing up outside of Chicago, it was just drab all winter.

I have to admit all day on Thanksgiving I was thinking about all the kids in bootcamp and hoping they at least got to call home. J had a hard time and he was able to call.

Good Morning, did everyone survive Cyber Monday Sale?!! You know I'm the first one up for a sale!, But this year I just haven't gotten into the mood for the presents side of Christmas; really for the first time in along time it's about my new love thanks to my Corpsman and that would be our Service Men & Women. I want them to know just how much their diligence in staying the course on this war is very much appreciated and doesn't go unnoticed!! So I hit all the discount stores for care packages and I will send them out today!! My 70lbs of care packages I sent out before Halloween arrived without incident.

Pam, Yes I posted a note on my blotter so not to miss the "Oprah Show" yesterday...they were so Great!! And Thanks for the pic of your Auntie's backyard...wow how nice to have all that land!! I think next year I want to travel to the east coast and witness the changing of the leaves...always wanted to do that!!

Chief, Yes My Hubby and I will be in attendance on Dec. 16th. It will be a drive up and back the same day!! I would love to meet you also!!

I won't be able to make this graduation. :(

Really wish I could, but my our anniversary is Dec. 16 and we have plans and I went to A School grad and kind of knew I would not be able to do another trip. Checkbook has taken a hit!!

Thanks Chief! I love the scenery, but I always feel like I'm stepping back in time when I go up to visit!! Sometimes though, the simple life might be better! I spoke to J for a few minutes earlier. Looks like he made up for being sick on his 21st birthday down in San Diego for the weekend! I probably don't want to know, right? He said they pretty much are on wind down now. They spent the day on the obstacle course and then actually got liberty early! Needless to say, there was a lot of happy sailors in the background while we were talking! They have one more field trip to get through and I can't believe there are only two weeks left! Crazy! Hope everyone gets through the next two weeks without any mishaps!

Oh my - even the NEX gets in on Black Friday, that's funny Judy!! I am not one of those that gets out there in the wee hours on the Friday after Thanksgiving. Many, many years ago I worked retail and had my fill of evil people looking for a bargain! I have to say that Amazon has become my favorite for online shopping.

Tennesse was very warm Turkey day, 72 degress. However, the bottom dropped out on Friday and it barely made it to 40 degrees. Shock to the system for sure! Christmas in Vegas sounds wonderful. We will stick close to home since this will be J's last holiday here in the states for a couple years.

BTW - Ketih Urban and Nicole Kidman are going to be on Oprah this week. Seen the commercial for it this morning!!

Here's a picture of my Aunt's backyard. I love to visit, but not sure I could ever live there.

Pam good morning to you! How special were our corpsman to have Boston Market cater their Thanksgiving!! How was the weather in Tennessee?! My favorite celebrity team Keith Urban & Nicole Kidman live there; how fun for you to be with family. T drove to Las Vegas for the Holiday they woke up at 2:45am to stand in line at the Nex on their Military Base for Black Friday for their specials; got electronics & home furnishings for Katie and T's new condo! They were so excited to start their new life together!!

I was not one of those who joined in on the race to "Black Friday" shopping; but I did make reservations for Christmas in Vegas so I think I will stick with Gift certificates for the every day needs.

jesspoo, I'm very happy your plans are coming to fruition and that you and you're corpsman will be together for Christmas!!

Ruth, the skype thing really works?!! What a treat to be able to share your Holiday with your cub through cyberspace!!

Good morning everyone! Hope everyone had a great holiday. Ruth - that is just awesome. You have to love modern technology. Jesspoo05 - congrats on your move! We spent a couple days in Tennessee with my Dad's family and spoke to J a couple times on Thanksgiving. He had a hard time and was caught by surprise how much he missed being home. He had duty from 2-6 so wasn't allowed to leave base at all. They did cater in Boston Market for all the one's on base. We're hoping he can come home for Christmas so that we can spend part of the holidays together before he heads to Italy.
