Thanks Judy - P-Bear's Mom - I'd take some of those yummy sounding cookies also.

Morning Pam, Thanks for the information, I will try to accomplish it.

An alert from U.S. Navy Recruit Training Command came across facebook 2 hours ago. They are pleading with all not to give out any information on Battlestations - i.e. dates and times. From the way it is worded, it may also mean all tests in addition to Battlestations. I would cut and paste it here, but I can only get Facebook on my home computer and I'm at work right now (where I can't get it.). If you have a Facebook account and have "liked" U.S. Navy Recruit Training Command, please take a look at it. Maybe one of the other Members can paste what they have asked into a comment box here.

I've seen it both ways about sending packages! I've heard that they still like to get mail from a previous Camp P. Corpsman Mom. Oh well, if I get the nasty gram from Jamie, I'll know!! LOL.

Becky - soemtimes it's easeir upkeep with nothing!! We've planted so much in the past few years that we have to have someone come over while we're on vacation to take care of the dog and the plants.

Have a great day everyone.

Hi Ladies, just got home and everybody's here...Great!!
I talked to T yesterday, he to declined a box of baked goods. T reasoned that he is not to indulge in creature comforts at the moment..."Mom, please don't send anything"!!

OH Carol, My cub said he's been talking to you're cub, and my cub thinks your cub is "Cool"...just thought you would like to know. LOL

As I was reading the posts about flowers and trees, I had to chuckle. I don't have many of either at my house--I bought my husband a chain saw for Christmas one year so he could cut wood for camping. Went shopping one spring day and all 3 of the trees in my front yard were GONE! Planting flowers doesn't work because he mows over them. So, I'm jealous of you ladies! Anyway, talked to J yesterday. I asked if he wanted a care package but he said "no, please". He says he is getting plenty to eat and doesn't need them. Said he doesn't have any place to keep food---I told him I doubted that he'd have to store any 'cause they'd eat it all, but he still said no. According to him, 2nd Platoon is the best! Guess everyone thinks their platoon is the best--not a bad thing!

Why, it sure does make you young Chieff88!! LOL!! Love it. But we have azaleas, gladiolas, knock-out roses, Magnolia trees and a whole bunch of pine trees!! Ha, ha - those Georgia Pines are everywhere. Actually they are quite nasty, dirty trees. My husband doesn't get it either. They'll never understand that motherly bond. I'll get so mad at my younger son (LAZY), and then text or talk to him an hour later like nothing happened! Sent my package today also. I hit the vending machine because I was afraid I didn't give him enough brownies since I didn't make the cookies. :) I told him I'm sure one of his shipmates would love a snack! SO SHARE!

Good afternoon everyone!! It was raining cats and dogs here in Atlanta, but we won't complain because we needed it. My commute into work was an hour and ten minutes and I often find myself wondering what J is doing and going through during those long trip times. He sent me a text last night and I can always tell when he's getting a little homesick. He had a great weekend though, so I think it helped him mentally to refocus on his training. I am sending off my brownies today and hope that they get there by Wed. If they do, I'm going to send another package on Wed. for Fri. delivery. Halloween Candy! Oh, and couldn't do the cookies since I didn't have enough brown sugar :( So brownies it will be.

Have a great day and Chief88 - I hope your not to stiff from gardening!! I'm sure the payoff is worth it! I wish we could do tulips here in Georgia, but it never gets cold enough. You literally have to dig them up and put them in the deep freeze every year.
