My name is Tammy and I just joined this site a few days ago. My son is in Japan and stationed on the USS TORTUGA. I was just wondering how often navy moms/parents get together here in Florida. Are there any up coming dates of anyone meeting. Could someone please feel me in.

Hi  Tammy and welcome!  As you can see, this is not a very active site but we can alway try to "drum up" a get together.  We usually try to have a packing party to get together and I'm waiting to hear from another mom about "adopting" a group to send care packages to.  I will let see what's up with that ... if nothing, then maybe we can adopt your son's group... is he with a squadron or is he ships company?

Hi Tammy and Linda.  Boy have I been gone a long time.  I have been in here for ages.  Welcome Tammy.  As Linda said we are a group that get together every so often to put things together to mail to our boys and girls serving.  We do try to get together just to have lunch once in a while as well.  However, with all our conflicting schedules it becomes   a task in itself.  going to head out to read some other notes.  Thanks for the reminder on facebook Linda, Shirley is coming back in too.  Been too long.  Navy Mom Mary

Thanks Linda and Mary. My son is stationed on a ship, USS TORTUGA out of japan. Please let me know of any get togethers and packaging parties. I know my son's ship would be grateful for any care packages. I know he has told me of quiet a few sailors that never get anything and he trys to share his.

Let's get together the week of the 19th .. how'z about lunch on Friday? or what works best for everyone? We can meet at Murano's at Crane's Roost????

I would love to do something like lunch or a packing party.  Unfortunately, the 19th is during spring break and I will be out of town.  Please, if you have any follow-up get-togethers or plans, let me know!

Yeah can we do a different day besides Friday.   Tammy you will love hanging with us.  My son is also in Japan and has been for close to 2 years now.  He was recently home just after Christmas and the stay was short - however, it was a great visit.  Look forward to meeting all the new moms.  We will have some good fun and share some tears, laugh and cry - but WE WILL DO IT TOGETHER with Navy Mom Hugs ((((HUGS))))

We can reschedule after spring  break ... say end of April?
