OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

Linda my son had to leave deployment 10 day early due to his wife being very ill, HE needed his passport!!!,made that emergancy trip a lot easier..... a must...best to be safe then sorry, the world is a different place today then is was years ago...

Lindalay-if they don't have one, your sons command can point them in the right direction on how to get it!...My son said it is very easy, especially with Military ID being a great form of ID!!!

what if they dont have a passport?
Comment by diane {Shawns mom} on December 1, 2010 at 11:16am
When in the military and especially when going underway a sailor SHOULD ALWAYS have his passport, most sailors are told that, especially in pre-deployment...If a sailor MUST leave deployment and travel through a countries airport, they will need a passport, remember that are NOT in America anymore and we all know how much some countries love OUR troops....It also makes traveling through this airports a lot easier..Its a easy thing for our sailors to get and HIGHLY suggest each sailor has his or hers! There is usually a check list when a sailor leaves on deployment...POA/Passport etc...very important to have!!!
