For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

When attending PIR in March what should I wear. I'm guessing it will be cold & windy.

I would normally be able to figure it out, except for the fact that my husband is a retired Navy Chief - Corpsman. So, his daughter asked that he wear his uniform to her PIR. So, now I have to match him. But, also the PIR is in the morning. So, that's quite the conundrum...

Please help.....

He's working to increase his score on the ASVAB to try and get the rate his dad was when he was in. Still haven't heard from him since that "I made it safely" call.

Comment by jase's.mom on December 2, 2024 at 3:11pm: There are two preparatory programs - one academic and one for fitness. The Navy took after the Army to boost recruitment numbers.

My son is and so if yours is too they won't get their PIR dates until they finish the program which lasts about 3 weeks after their processing week.
