yes, Justin has friends. he went with some of them to the concert and he goes with 2, I believe, when he goes ski boarding. he's survived it a year now. he says once he gets back he says he's got 2 1/2 yrs yet to go. if he is able to get a dog I think that will help. he's prob doing better than I feel he is. for me, I'd be bored outa my mind. never did small towns well at all.

woah, see I've always said I don't know how married people do the military. hard enough having my son away I could never imagine if it were my spouse or being in the military and having to leave behind a young child. very strong indeed.

Doesn't Justin have friends on base..Guys or groups to do things with..Believe me..it was extremely hard for Shawn and Heather in WA..Just after arriving there..Shawn left on deployment and heather was left behind in an apartment NOT know anyone...But she made her way around base....asked lots of questions...met people...You just have to be willing to "accept new adventures"..new friends...
I do know the "home sickness" feeling take a while to go away..but once he discovers WA he will learn he is not limited. The only things that his age limits him from doing is drinking and gambling...He is young..he will find he way and make friends....

I'm sure Justin will. but, keep in mind, he just turned 20. rather limits some things he can do (I would've loved to have gone to the casino). plus he has no one. probably makes it better because your son has a wife and child. Justin says he wants to get a dog when he gets back. that would prob help a lot. haha...funny enough he says all the girls on his base are (lets just say) not worthy. he says he wants to get a job at Dominos because the girls there are all pretty. we went there-and he was right.

Terry, many many blessings wished your way! so sorry you couldn't make it to your sons wedding but it's cool what they did for you.

Diane, funny enough Justin doesn't want to put miles on his car. he was saying how he'd prob put 500 miles on it while I was there. he babies his possesions what little he has. but he does have to drive during ski season. he just discovered that passion late in the season and now the season is over.

TERRY..we hung out with Derrick.....what a character..have some pics..that I could be used as "evidence" LOL....We had a blast while he was there. He left for the airport Monday nite as we continued to party on!!!!..Thought about him Sat though!
Jody, that boy, needs to get in his car and drive. Everrett is nothing..its just a small town..not close to much of anything. My kids drive to to everything....They are adventureous...They just get in the truck...punch something into the GPS and go!....They have no problem driving for hours on end..Now me...get me there quick...LOL...

Diane, I didn't say I didn't enjoy it....I enjoyed very much being with Justin. that's what I cherished. but you're right, he doesn't know where to go in SEA. he's only been there for flights and to see the Black Eyed Peas. however, I don't think you've been to Whidbey Island-have you? it's dullsville. that's why he said he wished he'd been stationed at Everett but wasn't his choice. also he's only 20 yrs old so that does pull it's limits too. yes he has a car...he bought a new Hyndui Sonata and he and his dad drove it out there when he moved there. he's hoping when he gets back that he can get an apartment. that will help loads. when that happens all 4 of us will prob go. the girls had begged me to take them this time but wouldn't take them out of school.

Shirley-enjoy your son!!! I know you will.

Jody, sorry you didn't enjoy the great NW..I love it there....seems as though Justin has not found the right places to go....I have not spent a whole bunch of $$ doing anything there, as for beggers...geez we have them outside Publix here! they are everywhere.. The ecomony is much better up there then here in Orlando...Did you rent a car?..Does Justin have a car? I do know you NEED a vehicle up there but SO worth it all..Every time I go up there I find something else..Yeap...like orlando..you have your tourist spots and then you have your HOME spots......

hi everybody. returned this morning from SEA. came back a day early because today would've been a lost day and too God awful early to leave so I took the redeye flight late last night. Justin and I had a wonderful visit. just mother and son. it's been a long long time since we had that and do I ever cherish that. WOW is it beautiful country out there. everywhere you look you see mountains all around you. I feel kinda bad for Justin though (although I'd never tell him that to make him 'down'!). it's rather dull out there. he's 2 hrs from SEA on Whidbey Island and just not much to do. we went and saw 2 movies at the theater and rented a redbox. when I arrived Friday we went up in the Space Needle overlooking SEA. that was pretty cool but hardly worth the $17pp-at least we got nice pictures. would've loved to go on the 'duck' tour (duck boats that go on water and land) but that was $25pp. I felt like I was back in Orlando...everywhere you turn $$$. he stayed in the hotel room with me so that was nice. before my flight lastnight we went into downtown SEA and walked around town a bit. loads (I mean loads) of 'beggars'. 1 poor kid my heart bled for his sign said his whole family was killed by Ninjas. that's odd..I think of that in Japan n such. there is a HUGE Asian population out there. Justin said because of all of the electronics and wave of the future stuff. we were going to Cheesecake Factory (his fav) for dinner but the wait was too long and I'd would've missed my flight so we ended up at the Fox Sports Grill. he loved that. it was actual Fox tv sports, tvs everywhere and food was great. yep, you guessed it, this ole mom cried when I said my goodbyes. didn't help that everywhere I turned in the airport there were military. my sailor will be off in a few short weeks to the middle east and it's killing me. he's somewhat looking forward to it...now I can see why...lack of anything to do around there.
