Justin update: I have wrapped my arms around my son!! He arrived Orlando from Seattle at 3:40pm (he was suppossed to arrive at 9:15am originally). we got home, he saw his dog, took and shower and he's off...out with friends for the evening. we don't mind at all-kind of expect it. it's just wonderful him being home! he said "It's hot!" it was cold in Seattle. I am soooo relieved. it wasn't looking like he was going to even make it home on this leave because he flys standby. I'd never had him buy the standby pass on another airline before but did this time and oooooh so glad I did. only $50 and he flew direct on Southwest and he liked their seats better and the crew was fun and he got fed a meal. USAir always changes planes. I'm just elated I tell you!!!!!

Diane, Nope being in that long doesn't seem to do any good plus he was promoted to Chief last Sept so they can't live in reg housing they have to go to the Officer housing and he is low man on the pole. So who knows how long it will be. I guess they are going to look for somethingto buy so maybe that will work. I am in Citrus county north of tampa. Jody, Good for your son enjoy his visit. I plan on a trip to Maryland when the baby is born. Hopefully they will have found a place to live by then. Diane where in Fl are you?

update on Justin....he's on his way!!! we can buy standby passes for other airlines deeply discounted (like $25 or $50 I think). he got on a Southwest flight that they were asking for people to give their seats up on. non-revving (that's what it's called when airline employees fly standby) you can never ever figure out. you can show up for a flight that has 20 open seats showing but because they shuffle passengers around it ends up going out full and you don't get on or you can show up for a flight that has sold 10 more seats than what the plane has and end up getting on because of passenger no-shows. he has to stop in Denver but it's only an intermediate stop so, hopefully, they won't pull him off if they've sold the seat. I just can't wait until 4pm gets here. woo hoodie who.

HI KAREN< WOW 15 1/2 years...wow..very seasoned MOM...where do you live in Central Florida????
MY son and his wife were living in the Navy lodge in seattle..and were also told that base housing was "booked"...1 week later..they found an apartment and just moved into it until housing became available, which was about 4 months..Now your son being in for such a long time has GOT to help push him to the TOP of the list and his wife being pregnant probably doesn't hurt either!!! Good Luck..please keep us all up to date on there progress♥

Good morning ladies, Hope all is well with everyone. Jodi I hope that your son finds a flight to get home for Easter. It's so hard having them away over hoildays. I don't think it ever gets any easier. Steven has been in for 15 1/2 years now and I still miss him if he isn't here. Hes in Maryland now with his wife(been there 3 weeks) and they are still living at the Navy Lodge. Seems base housing won't be available until sometime in May. and they are expecting their first child in 3 weeks. Looks like my grand daughter will be comming home to a hotel room. Go figure. But at least they are stateside now after years of being overseas.

Justin is trying to come home on leave before he deploys soon. he flys free on my retiree pass. he didn't get on the 10:20pm flight last night nor did he on the 5:15am or 6:15am this morning. they are saying no one has gotten on the last 4 days because the flights are that full (he flys standby). he's sounding so upset and we are too. may not get to see our son-heart breaking here. it's great to fly free but Seattle just doesn't offer a lot of flights to anywhere in FL. hoping and praying that we can see him to hug him today or tonight!
