OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

anybody have any idea what 'Blue Jacket of the Quarter' is/means? Justin just got nominated for it. I asked why: was it for attitude, work, dress, what? he didn't know. he said he didn't want to be nominated though because now he's having to study to brush up on some questions he got out of his mind after he graduated BC. he never wanted to be flag corps or whatever it was because of the added work either.

I'm up for anything, Shirley. good luck with that. I know my son wouldn't see of it. being still a teenager (for 6 more days) hanging with older people isn't at all what he's about. we're lucky to see him when he comes home. but that's okay. I remember being that young. he's just being normal.
