Shirley, the emails will come, do you have your son's email addy???? Start writing!!! Deployment are HARD WORK...HE will need time to adjust the schedule they have. All work when underway! When he gets to port he will see the world and have stories to tell that will make your hairs stand on end!

Anyone can submitt a pic. Just make a sign showing your support for our troops and send them to Adopt a Sailor! I just thought as a group we could and should submit a pic. And let the guys know where we are from!!!!!

Ladies, I do not know if any of you visit the Adopt a Sailor room but if you get a chance you must go and read some of the Thank yous for the Uss Crommelin.

Mary photo OP sounds great! As far as getting people to bring stuff for discounted admission GREAT idea, must wait for NPO to come through!! For now we can "make connections" but have to tread "lightly" don't want to screw it all up!!! a LOT of work!

Jsrmom, I would encourage you to rent a car. We were only there for 1 day but with 4 of us the taxi would have been way too much. Plus having a car is just easier. We rented from Ace, I believe it was but we flew into Ohare. You may want to check with the Navy Lodge which is only about 1 block from the base. Very clean and cheap plus you can hob nob with other parents that way. We'd reserved elsewhere when I spoke with a couple of moms here on this group and they'd encouraged me to switch so I did. You'll love being that close for the morning of PIR. And don't forget to go the meet n greet the night before PIR at (I believe it was called) Flanagans. We did and were glad that we did.

Great idea! for pic Mary!!!!
OK packing party though!!! Can't really do that a disney...I don't think so..
So Vets day Nov 11, so I believe we should have the packing party the next Sat, which would be---the 14th...everyone in!!!!!

Disney Village is about 12 bucks to park!!!! I get nervous about Disney....they haven't shown "much" support for our troops and don't want security on Navy MOMS asses.....but they have recently starting give "military packages" at their parks..I don't know....Dusty you worked there, quite twitching and let us know what you think!!!!!!
