FOLLOW THESE STEPS TO GET STARTED:

Choose your Username.  For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either).  Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username.  While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Make sure to read our Community Guidelines and this Navy Operations Security (OPSEC) checklist - loose lips sink ships!

Join groups!  Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself!  Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility. 

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.  

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Jodi, my son is also in WA, beautiful Place and lots to do!!! He will make connections with guys in his division, serious...these are the guys that he will live eat sleep with....believe me it doesn't take that long. My son is just "humbled" by the respect -care- that his shipmates have for one another...I have stories that would make you bring out the kleenex!!!! For SURE...

OH>..almost forgot..Ladies the boxes for our Sailor in Afganistan will be mailed out next week.....My company is participating BIG time.....so I am gonna ship our boxes with our companies...I will make sure that the card in the box reads

Yes, we hear from Justin several times a week-he calls and texts. Nothing for him to do there (sounds kinda boring) but his xbox and tv. He's there for 2 yrs.

Ingrid, handsome picture. I'm glad he's happy. Justin hasn't been able to make friends as yet in WA because he's not allowed to speak to those with a higher rank. I feel so very bad for him-hoping that gets better. He does like the work though.

Thanks, Ingrid. I've already done it. Now I wait to see if they choose to use it (I guess, it says, that they'll send you an email if so). Justin would probably kill me but you know you can't stop a mother's pride.
