Hi Denise, welcome welcome. I put my last name because it's up to you if you want to or not. You just can ever list your son's last name. Our son just graduated his A schooling in Pensacola. He's driving home now as we speak. We should see him in 1-2 hours now. He'll be home for 15 days before heading out to WA for his assigned duty station. Looking forward to meeting you. This is a great, wonderful, fantastic (and all those words) group of ladies you've stumbled upon. They helped me a lot when we were brand new to the military life back in December and they continue to be a great source of support.

Thanks very much Beth. We sure do need some divine intervention right about now.

Thanks, Jackie. I'm calling him now. He did switch his auto insurance from Progressive (our policy) to USAA when he went to A schooling.

Thank you so much, Bonnie.

Hey everybody-I'm hoping somebody can offer me some information/advice. Justin is wanting to buy a new car (well a used car-but it'd be new to him). He will need to get a loan. He banks at Bank of America and they immediately turned him down. I'm sure because he has no credit history (aside from his car insurance policy and a checking account he has no credit). We aren't able to help him, even, as co-signers because our credit, I'm sure, has plummeted with my job loss I suffered. Does anybody know does the Navy not have someone or somewhere where they can check for credit assistance in buying a car? He only has 1 day left on PNS base then he comes home. I would think they would have a need to help the sailors with that-this can't be that uncommon of a problem. Please let me know asap.

Also does anybody have a good quality used car they're trying to sell (for me). If so let me know details.

Wonderful to hear, Diane. Glad you had such a nice time.

Yep-they've totaled my car out. So going today to get the check and hope that we can quickly find a good quality used car like mine was before 1 week goes by as the insurance company will only pay for the rental car for 7 days. It's a little hard to be a traveling salesman without a car you know. Please wish us well. My hubby has his work cut out for him because he also has to look for a car for Justin when he gets home Friday.

Thanks, Ingrid. Yes, I'm fine. My body (hip, neck, back) are just a little sore but that, I think, is only because I was tossed a bit in the impact. I'm just hoping and praying that they don't total my car because my fear is that they won't give us enough to go out to buy another car and we have no spare money either. Yes, God was definately there. It could've been so much worse than it was. I have no earthly idea how only 2 of us impacted.

I'm so very glad that your son is still here today. Rolling a car-how scary. Yes, a mother would've freaked out seeing pulling up on that scene. Ya know when I broke down once I got home, that was one of the first things I told Mike that it made me worry about Justin driving from PNS home and then here to WA. Mike told me that's why he's driving out to WA with him too.

I know the time with Justin will whiz by. I know that this goodbye will really hit my heart because it'll be longer than 2 months before we can see him again. Now I am hoping that he only stays in for the 4 years. This goodbye stuff is for the birds.

Pam, I'm so sorry about your dog. My husband and I, too, took our yellow lab to have him put to sleep about 3 years ago after the kids had said goodbye to him and went to school. It was right near the time that my mother in law had died as well. Rough year. Our dog looked just like, and acted like, Marley of the movie Marley N Me. We went to the theater to see that movie and the girls and I were bawling like babies. It was far too personal. Our youngest wanted to rent the movie again last weekend. I tried to watch it and I cried just as much. The scene where they were putting Marley to sleep was the very same as what Mike and I experienced. Yes, one of the hardest times in our lives. And, God bless you, for having to tell your son. That would've been rough. I hope you find happiness in another dog like we did. The dog in our picture is the one we adopted from the shelter a month later as a Christmas gift for the kids.

Ingrid-thanks for sharing all those wonderful pictures.

3 more days and our son should be coming home. So far, they haven't changed that plan again.

All-I saw my life flash in front of my eyes yesterday. I got in a wreck in the middle of I4 yesterday at 3pm. I thought I was going to die! God was definately there with me (and the other drivers). This young girl was exiting then she must've decided she didn't want that exit and merged back in. No room for her to do that. I swerved to miss her and did and hit the car on my left. We were in the middle lanes. No injuries. Thank God I had no kids with me. My car is a 94 so with all the damage we're waiting to see if they're going to total it. Soooo....my hubby is going to go with Justin to shop for a new car for him while he's home and prob. have to shop for a new car for me too. That's hated. Let me tell you my heart stopped. I maintained then once I got home I started bawling and shaking. I was so scared (after shock).
