OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Justin just called. He graduated A schooling just Friday. We didn't go because he said not to. He said all that happened was he shook his commanders hand. He was/is in Pensacola for IT (computer technology) schooling. He told us this morning that he just got told that he didn't get his choice to be shipped to on his dream list. He'd picked Japan, Italy or Florida. He got Hawaii. He's happy with that. He's real happy that he won't be stationed on a ship. He's not sure when/if he can come home or how long he'll be held up in PNS yet.

Lori, I sure know what you mean about goodbyes (I'm sure we all do). It's never easy. I'm the only one blubbering now though. My daughters, my hubby and Justin are much stronger than I am with that.

Ingrid and Lynne-have a wonderful visit with your sailors.

Janet-how's your sailor doing now?
